  • EXAMINE SEAMS & ZIPPERS CAREFULLY AFTER UNPACKAGING
I bought this jacket mainly for what will probably be a one-off several day trip, with some light hiking, in a cold and wet environment. A jacket both warm and waterproof was needed , but I did not want to make a pricey investment in a jacket I might use only occasionally afterwards. I think it will meet this immediate need and other light exertion needs in the future. On inspection, however, I'm not sure it would have the durability to stand up to repeated daily use over long periods of time, especially if heavier physical exertion might put stress on the seams or zippers. The front zipper seems to be of low quality, and I imagine it might be the first to go if put under any stress. The seams have very narrow material margins, easy to fray out. IN FACT, in testing the pocket zippers I found that a seam around the pocket already had a huge gap where stitching had failed to sew the material together, so the inner lining was exposed. If you order the product, be sure and examine it carefully for loose seams. Facing the choice of repackaging the jacket, returning it, and waiting another several weeks for it to hopefully be re-delivered (with no similar other flaws), I decided to try and carefully re-stitch this seam together myself. I had read reviews stating this jacket was very "boxy." I did not find that to be true. However, because I have trouble with sleeve lengths in female clothning often being way too short, I ordered a Male Size Medium. I'm 5 ft. 7 in., about 160 pounds, and not particularly hippy or pear shaped. The jacket when snapped and buttoned was fairly slim in sizing with the bottom snap making a rather snug fit, with no boxiness or room left. The shoulder sizing and sleeve length were fine. Overall, perhaps because of my height, the profile was more slim than boxy looking. I was also pleased that the pockets are deep enough to accommodate items, like eyeglasses in a case, e.g. I can't speak as to whether it is indeed waterproof or warm because I haven't used it yet. ... show more

  • Excellent Ski Jacket for the Price
Color: Black Camo Size: Medium
I actually purchased 2 of these Ski Jackets - a Red jacket in size Large and a Camo jacket (shown) in size Medium. I am 6' 0'' and 170 lbs (physical build). I can tell you that the Red jacket fit perfect for Skiing out in Park City, Utah (last week) with underlayer, bibs, sweater under jacket. I thought for sure I would have to return Medium sized Camo jacket but this one fit me just as well (might be a bit smaller around the chest/stomach area but I can't tell without other ski clothes on. I've decided to keep both. One oddity is that the Red jacket came with a Women's zipper and the Camo jacket came with a Men's zipper - not a big deal but something I had to get accustomed to. Another thing is that the zippers and sleeve velcro are made with minimalistic materials compared with normal high end Ski jackets. However, I figure if I can get a season or two out of these, they are worth the money. They have plenty of pockets and kept me warm during my ski adventures (mornings ~10 degrees F; afternoons ~28 degrees F). Overall, I'm very pleased with my purchases! ... show more

  • Not quite a downhill ski coat but it could work.
Color: Black Size: X-Large
At 5'11" ~255lb an XL fit a bit snug across shoulders and midsection which may have been tolerable but it also felt like it may need some layers underneath so after one fitting I sent it back for an XXL that will hopefully allow me to save the old ski coat for skiing only. For light winter activities I think the coat will do fine but to replace my tattered old ski coat I need to see more snaps over the zipper than just two on the bottom, more pockets, a midsection cinch belt to keep wind out, and some zippered vents to let wind in! Ski coats for me need to quickly adapt from keeping a sweaty body warm while dangling totally exposed to a -20⁰ wind to keeping that same body cooled off as it rips up another mountain getting to the lift in time to get one more run on a discounted late afternoon pass. ... show more

  • It was pretty huge
Color: Black Size: X-Large
I got a men's extra large because I usually fit in extra large in mens t-shirts but this bad boy fits like a double x. Despite that, I can attest to it being super warm, having plenty of pockets, and a good sized hood that buttons together around the face/throat. You sort of have to figure out how to get the hood to lay flat when you don't want it up, tho. The flaps tend to just stick out like am awkward collar. But it's still work the buy. ... show more

  • Pretty Darn Good Medium Weight Jacket
Color: Darkgrey Size: XX-Large
I just got this jacket right before the winter storm in February 2023 in Minnesota. I have to admit $40 for this seemed too good to be true. Is it windproof? Yes. I got to shovel the driveway with some 45 MPH winds and snow blowing at my face the entire time. Water Resistant? Yep works well on that too. I spent the last two days shoveling out about 16 inches of snow while it was snowing and the wind was up. I was outside for an hour doing that. There was no wind coming in and no wet areas on the seams. Is it a heavy weight jacket? Not really Maybe it just felt lighter than other heavy weight jackets. I kept pretty active so I never got cold. I did order the 2 XL because I dress in layers and honestly I was not sure how this would work out. The jacket did well. I do think the part of the hood where the there is Velcro that covers the face and chin; that is too narrow should allow more length in it. I cant fault what I got for the price. ... show more

  • Very Warm and well-made, but has storage issues
Color: Dark Blue Size: Large
This jacket looks and feels just like the ones sold by the major brands (such as The North Face). It's got fleece lining which makes it extra warm for cold weather. I've only had it for a couple of months, but it seems very sturdy and stands up to abuse. My only complaint is about the front breast pocket. It's not deep enough to store my smart phone. I have an iPhone 13 (regular size) and it sticks out almost half-way when I try to shove it in there. ... show more

  • Hard to tear and waterproof.
I like this jacket a lot. I work outside and this jacket saved me during the rainy season. I have managed to poke a hole in the jacket while working but it's pretty hard to do. My only complaint is that the hood is a bit short so water will still hit you in the face if rain comes in at an angle.
