Description

With, clean lines and functional appeal, the Paragon bedroom is a fresh take on classic Shaker style. Crafted from solid Mahogany frames in an opaque white finish, the set features a simple, framed panel design with reverse bevel floating tops. Case goods rest atop tapered legs with a gently arched lower side cross. The storage bed includes 2 drawers on each side and ships with a platform bed slat kit designed for use without a foundation. The standard bed includes 3 bed slats for use with a standard mattress set. As with any classic shaker design, Paragon’s beauty is in its function and ease. Case goods feature sanded and stained plywood drawer boxes with front and rear English dovetail joinery and full-extension ball bearing drawer glides. Dresser and chest top drawers are felt-lined for storing delicate items. Bed features hook-on rail fittings for fast, easy assembly and long-term durability.

This arrived a few days ago and it is very beautiful. It is also very heavy. Make sure you choose the white glove delivery service if you can. Well packed, it came with no damage. The drawers open and close smoothly and have a sort of lock or catch mechanism that clicks into place at the last half inch or so. Feels solid. The hardware is very smooth with no rough or sharp edges, so won't ever catch a fingernail or get a scratch by accident. I had already owned the queen size sleigh bed and awesome night stands with the pull out shelf, so I was very excited to get this dresser. It's beautiful all wood and heavy!!! Definitely pay for the additional white glove service if available. Unless you have a bunch of strong men handy, these are solidly built. Huge, heavy, this dresser will probably outlive me! The color is darker than pictured, as other reviewers mention, but I bought it with that in mind. It looks great with the black walnut sleigh bed built by my father-in-law, both in color and in scale -- the bed doesn't dominate the room the way it used to, which is great. ... show more

Very poor quality control by this company. The photos show what my chest looked like straight out of the box. No tools were used to open the box, only my hands. This was done at the factory and they boxed it up and sold it anyway. Dents, scrapes, and scratches in wood and on handles. Pathetic.

Cymax and the dresser are amazing. The craftsmanship on this product is beautiful. We recommend taking the drawers out if you have to carry this up some stairs. It is very heavy but GORGEOUS. Wish we would have purchased the matching bed frame and nightstands from Cymax.

    • Big problems with drawer rails

Beyond the center drawer having a visible nick in it where the finish chipped off, the huge problem with this unit are rails that are aggressively designed to extend fully and carry the full weight of the drawer. Problem is they are under-under engineered. Withiin two weeks three drawers are broken, one out of the box. The large drawers that are broken shudder from left to right when opening due to a rail mechanism that is loose and small. No tightening is possible. One drawer already sags (with only lady sweaters in the drawer). I have told my wife to never extend the drawers completely, but she won't follow instructions so this will likely last a couple years at best at a lifetime purchase price. Out of the box the left top jewelry drawer is mal-designed. I have to use all my 6' 200lb strenght to open it. No visible reason, again something to do with rail structure. THIS is the problem of internet large item purchases; in this case it is obvious they knew they had a dud (possibly consumer rejected and returned already) they drop the price a bit and stick someone with it.. Good luck returning this once unboxed. About 200lbs and needs to be on a special plat to raise the weight off the short legs. Just too much hassle when we work all the time to return. This experience is a one star, but I give two because nice visual design. But the workmanship is lacking QC. I am sure they are not all broke out of box, but use extreme caution buying rails mai-designed and under engineered for their purpose. ... show more

The Brighton 7-drawer chest is a great size, holds a lot of clothes. I like the way it looks too. The drawer sliders work very well, though because of them the drawers are actually slightly smaller than my old drawers. However, having 7 drawers makes up for that. I like antiques, and this fits in with my other furniture quite well. Wonderful price. Of course not the finest piece of furniture since the back is not made of wood. On the other hand, it would weigh too much if it were all made up of the heavy wood. My husband and I didn't have a problem carrying it in after removing the drawers; just googled to find out how to take them out and then how to put them back in. The color is darker than the picture, but I quite like it. It's great that it has no particle board in it...Seems sturdy and should last. ... show more
