I bought this to use as a purse when I travel. I read that many people were disappointed with the size, but the measurements were listed and it functions very well as a computer bag and a purse. It is super sturdy and very attractive. It holds its form well because it's made of sturdy, quality material. It has tons of pockets so nothing gets lost or scratched up in my bag. The pockes are deep so the bag profile holds well. It is a great cross-body bag that has lots of security. I always know that my passport and money are locked away by a velcro held flap that is presses to my body as well as zippered pouches. It also gives me areas to place small amounts of cash when I travel. It is convenient for my needs and an excellent value. It holds my large and small laptop comfortably. As someone who's always on the lookout for practical yet stylish bags, I can confidently say the Modoker Messenger Bag for Men has exceeded all my expectations. Seriously, this thing is fantastic. First off, the capacity is perfect. I was pleasantly surprised that my work laptop (a MacBook Pro, for reference) slides in with room to spare, which isn't always the case with messenger bags. Beyond that, the pockets are just right – enough of them to keep things organized without being overwhelming, and they're surprisingly soft inside, which is a nice touch for protecting electronics or glasses or camera stuff. I am not a college student. I do quite a bit of travel for my consulting business. I wanted a computer bag that could hold a 14" computer and fit vertically under the airplane seat in front of me (for leg room on either side of the bag), so I needed a bag that was less than 11" high. I found this bag after many searches. I find it to meet all of my needs. Plenty of pockets for organization and sturdy. I like the Velcro for closing the front flap however, I initially put my Ipad in it. It makes the Velcro much more probable that it will come undone. Also, just to be clear, the bag will hold a 14" laptop, but not in the computer section. It easily fits in the section in front of the computer pocket. Not an issue for me though as long as it fit. I have the black bag and looks very professional. Overall, I am happy with this messenger bag for all of my needs.

I have not owned the bag all that long however let me tell you the facts as I know them. The messenger bag came on time , actually it came a day early wrapped up well in plastic at in perfect condition. It looked exactly like the photo. I checked the seams and the zipper and the handle all which are super strong and absolutely intact. The color looks really good. Mine is black bag. The measurements are true to size and I like the idea that I can move the handle up to be more of a crossbody or shortness some to make it a messenger bag that goes over my shoulder. It's got a pretty good length to it because it works for both me and my husband and I am 5-2 and he is 5 11 and it works for us both. He definitely feels it more than I do so it will hold a nice size collapsible umbrella, pens on the side phone on the front, I have a 20 oz coffee mug in there and my husband is also often carrying things from my house to my uncle's house so let's just say that bag it's pretty stuffed before the night's over. I was able to leave the pocketbook behind and because of the size of this bag I can actually find everything and see everything inside the bag and it's working for the two of us. Now that I love it I'm definitely getting another one in the next few weeks for just me. This is a giftable bag. It definitely is a unisex bag but in no way does it look feminine if anything I think it just kind of looks academic, more like a school bag. I love the idea that it has the long flap closure because it's easier when on public transportation to make sure no one could access anything in the bag and it flattens it instead of having bulky outer pockets that stand away from your bag. Until further notice I would just like to say the bag is durable and I have been in a brief rainstorm and I found nothing wet in the bag but I did have an umbrella and I think I was mostly covered but if there was any rain on it it must be water resistant as they say because I did not see it get wet. It is as promised and it says nice balance between a back pad and a crossbody and it looks good for a cloth messenger bag which is a nice option for those of us who don't want to buy leather even if leather looks nicer my heart feels nicer buying a cloth bag as opposed to killing something show me and my husband can have a good back to carry from New York to New Jersey. Definitely a worthy purchase if anything changes I'll update this review. I don't usually write reviews but this is a really cool bag and we are really happy with it. Enough to say that if it's not durable we will update you but I can't see how it wouldn't be it's stitched really very well all over. Also I don't think me and my husband are that easy on this bag and it gets used a lot even in the brief time we've owned it so I would definitely consider buying this bag over those so many others I looked at on Amazon. There are larger bags if you need something for a laptop but this being 13.5 inches long as simply perfect because it has good depth and good width. So far so great, yay!

First of all, the bag has a classic look, and is sturdy and spacious. The zippers are substantial and easy to open and close with one hand. I don't have a laptop; what I do have is a long line of failed bags made for women that are all either being thrown out or donated, depending upon their condition. This bag is perfect for the amount of stuff I carry around all day, in a great layout that is neither too large nor claustrophobic, and I can grab everything quickly without searching. I am so over hobo-style satchels, and the expensive purses made with too many sections have no depth for larger items. This bag has two main interior sections. In the cushioned section for laptops I keep a little 5 x 7 crossbody bag tucked on the left side which houses 3 pair of reading glasses (I pull this bag out whenever I just need my phone, money, glasses and keys at an event or in a restaurant). To the right of this is my 6x8 journal standing upright, but it also easily fits on its side, so these two items should give you a bit of a sense of the packable size. I could definitely fit more in this section but I don't like cramping up the space. In the other interior long section is my full-sized checkbook wallet (yeah I'm that lady), plus a makeup case, hairbrush, masks, hair ties, spare car key, little pack of tissues. There is also a tiny interior zippered pocket; currently I have teabags and stevia in there. In the large zippered pocket on the outside back of the bag I keep documents, bills to pay, postage, etc. - sort of my mobile desk; lots of room. On the front of the bag there is a large zippered pocket on the flap, that's for my phone and keys which I want immediate access to (lots more space in this pocket but I don't want to burden the flap with too much weight or opening and closing the bag would be cumbersome). Flip the flap and underneath on the front are two more smaller zippered sections; the bottom one is my little pharmacy of pain killers, hand sanitizer, hand lotion, bandaids, you name it; 8-10 pocket-sized products fit. Behind this pocket with the zipper higher up is a deeper pocket, in here I put more personal items that I don't need the world to see. When full, the bag's side profile is more of a tall triangle as the bottom is expanded with my stuff. This also allows it to stand on its own when I park it. Some reviewers found this objectionable. I think it's good behavior if we're calling this a ladies bag. The empty weight is a little more than my lighter pocketbooks, but it's so functional I truly don't care. I also don't care, like some reviewers, about the lack of a strap cushion. The adjustable strap is wide, thick, sturdy and comfortable enough, especially given that there is enough strap to use it as a crossbody. I do like the pen holders on one side, and I agree that the bottle sleeve on the other side is small, but a slim bottle fits fine. I'm so into this special find I have already purchased a second bag in the same color for backup, just in case this isn't available anymore in ten years, which is my estimate for when I will need to replace it. If you made it all the way though this review, you are probably supposed to get this bag. For the price, it's a perfect little gem. Oh yeah, and don't be fooled by how gigantic the bag looks on the man in the photo - either that guy is tiny, or the bag they're showing isn't the same one. My bag is 13" wide by 12" high, with 6" depth loaded. Just look at a ruler to see if it will look good on you...!

I'll start with why I bought this bag. I'm a first year college student that financially screwed themselves over the first semester and decided to go a more minnimalistic route for my second semester. A success, after spending my entire break working to save money for a surface 6. Only three of my classes didn't have an ebook, one I already have, one I'm able to borrow my friends, and one that is a bit bulky. I went mostly paperless, only having a three ring binder for handouts and some line paper for homework that has to be physically turned in. The only backpacks I had were big and bulky. Knowing me I would end up shoving papers in the bottom of my bag and stop becoming organized. So I found a small bag of mine that I got from some Alcatraz tour years ago, and it barely fit my binder and my laptop. I had to carry my textbooks and any other miscellaneous items I needed (I'm a girl, so those weeks of fun times were SO much fun). So hello Amazon, let's begin my search. I found a lot of interesting backpack and messenger bags and only 3 caught my eye. One had awful reviews saying it fell apart, the other was meant for 17 inch laptops, whereas mine is barely 13. Then there was this bag. It was cheap, decent reviews, the perfect size (based off the description and pictures). Why not? It came when I got home from my morning class, and I immediately switched over. It fit my laptop, binder, and my textbook for my next class with less effort than stuffing my two things in my other bag. I still had room for my charger, fun time items, earbuds, my wallet, an actual freaking pencil (it has these little pockets on the side for writing utensils and I LOVE them), and my wallet! It isn't able to fit my other class's bulky boxed book, but I don't mind much. The bag itself isn't too heavy, I wish it was a little but lighter and I wish there was padding for the shoulder, but other than those two things it feels like a really sturdy bag. I'll give it about a month or two to update my review, but as for right now I really do like it. Highly recommend if you're looking for a medium sized bag! 2/23/19 UPDATE- Holding up beautifully. REALLY wish there was padding on the strap and I'm slowly beginning to wish that the mesh bag on the side was a bit stretchier so it could hold a travel mug. I'll figure out how to DIY a shoulder pad in the future. 10/2/19 UPDATE- I'm genuinely surprised. Still good as new. I had made a discovery that the pencil holders on the side are open on both ends because I thought I forever got a pencil stuck in there until it fell out the bottom. Still my only complaint is lack of a shoulder pad! Other than that I'm still lugging my college supplies in this bad boy! 4/6/22 UPDATE- I still have this bag. I don't go to school anymore but it lasted me this long and is still in working condition. One of the little leather zipper things tore, but I had used for for 2 years straight I don't blame it. Bumping my review to 5 stars because I didn't expect for it to last this long 2/13/24 UPDATE - I STILL have this bag. I don't use it as often but if I need something that's not too big but sturdy I still take this around. Absolutely worth it!

I use my iPad every day for my business. I also have a 14” laptop that I use sometimes. I also have to carry a writing notebook on occasion, a file folder or two, and possibly a small to medium size book, as well as a small coffee thermos. This bag fits that bill perfectly. The notebook fits a bit snug, and I can’t just shove it in; I have to finesse it, but that’s a small niggle that’s not worth sweating over. I just received the bag today, which is why I rated “durability” with only 3 stars; I haven’t had it long enough to really find out. But the canvas, straps, and zippers all seem sturdy enough, and the inner lining is fairly substantial, so I rated the durability “average,” with an overall rating of 5 stars, to give it the benefit of the doubt. I’d be surprised if it didn’t last me for some years. The padded slip for the laptop is well padded. Not sure I’d want to drop the bag on concrete, but it’s well enough padded to protect the computer from everyday bumps and bangs. There appears to be more than enough pocket space in the large compartment for notebook and three or four smaller books, or a couple medium sized hardbacks. The ancillary zip pockets on front, rear, and flap are all deep and flexible enough to fit sunglasses case, business cards, phone, earbuds, chargers, cords, collapsible umbrella. The iPad will also fit in one of the larger zip pockets, if I don’t slip it in with the laptop, when I need to carry both. The webbed bottle pocket is on the small side. I have an insulated, 20 oz. Starbucks travel cup that’s a bit under 3” diameter, and it involves some profanity and a bit of sleight-of-hand to squeeze it in. As far as I’m concerned, that’s the bag’s Achilles heel. Perhaps the webbing will stretch a little over time? The bag has a nice finish; substantial edging all around, and the main compartment zip has a “tail,” that allows the bag to stretch just a bit for larger items. The strap doesn’t have a shoulder pad, which kind of disappoints me, but the strap is wide and thick; I doubt it really needs one. Overall, a really good size for me. It’ll carry everything I need to carry without being big and floppy. The canvas is a nice charcoal color (YMMV). I think it’s suitable for a casual day trip, and just as appropriate for a casual office and business meetings. Most impressive to me was that I bought the bag Saturday evening, the bag shipped out on Sunday morning and arrived the following day (today). And I notice that the bag comes with an “industry-leading 12 month warranty,” plus “a six month extension upon contacting the company” at the provided email address. Apparently, the item can be machine washed; there are good washing instructions on the tag. But don’t dry clean! Looks like another winner from Amazon and Modoker. Thanks so much!
