  • Hello all beginners!!
Color: A1-Nude
NO POLYGEL is for fresh out of the gate beginners!!! Do you have to be a professional to apply? No… I had acrylic nails for over 15 years. Then I learned how to do my own acrylic. Then I stopped because it’s very time consuming. And decent professional products were becoming harder to come by when I’m not a pro. I came across polygel which also has its own learning curve. My suggestions/tips from a non pro: • Watch tons of videos on YouTube first. • Be very careful NOT to push up to the cuticle! This will cut your time literally in half if you can master placement! • Use a dehydrator and bonder! Push your cuticles back! And clean them up. If not they will all lift and pop super quick! • Nail prep will help these nails last a lot longer!! • Stop complaining about spending $30 for a set when it would cost you $60-$100 for some of these long elaborate sets y’all wanna do • Remember this takes time to learn to do and mold! If you think this is gonna be as easy as a press on with glue… it’s not… • I find it easiest to flash cure one nail at a time to hold form placement then go back and do a full cure ON both sides top and bottom. • if this is something you are serious about invest in a good lamp and efile (drill) • you shouldn’t need clips to keep them in place!!! If you’re getting lifting at the cuticle while the product is UNCURED/still wet then try different tips!! And/or base coat. Also file and firm your tips to match your nail bed. • rubbing alcohol can be used as slip solution!! • DON’T over use slip solution!!!!!!! This one is super important!!! You’ll get lifting and longer cure times. If using isopropyl alcohol let dry if you have too much. If using modelones slip then dab some off with a lint free nail wipe or just give a minute to dry! My picture I’m posting is my 5th or 6th set using polygel (saviland and modelones) and I’m still getting the hang of it. This set is a mixture of modelones sets. I have saviland, modelones, gershion, and gellen polygel. So far modelones and saviland are my favorite. Gellen is super soft but I can’t speak to the longevity because I’m currently wearing their set. I also can’t speak to gershion. I haven’t tried their set yet. But I think they also went out of business I can’t find their products anywhere. For some reason my 2nd set of modelones only Lasted two weeks and I’m not sure why. But the 3rd last longer. User error? Who knows. Saviland lasted the longest with no lifting so far but their glitter polygel chips a little easier then I’d like. With all that said I prefer my nails to look more natural, shorter and I like them THIN. So for people giving 1 star reviews because it takes too long or it’s too hard to use… please remember this is a cheaper substitute for salon nails. You do need practice. You should watch videos. Do realize that your first second and probably 3rd set is gonna take you 3 hours. Depending on how long you want them and how many colors you want to blend and such. How complex of a set you want. THESE AREN'T JUST POP AND GO! Lol ... show more

Ive been using dip powder to protect my natural nails because they have always been fragile and prone to breakage… but dip offers Are hard to get smooth (especially the glitter which I love) also dip powders didn’t seem to last on my nails.. So I purchase this polygel nail kit and I am amazed!!! Smooth beautiful nails from the first try.. no they aren’t perfect but they look beautiful and I saved $60!! I’ll have enough to last for months!!! ... show more

  • This a solid mini kit and good value for the price.
Color: A1-Nude
When my box arrived I opened to find a seal on one of the bottles was defective. Polygel had spilled out and gotten on both bottles and the brush. I contacted Amazon and had the option to return the whole thing, but after deliberation I decided to just keep it. It was about an eighth of one bottle and I had been wanting to start playing with polygel immediately and did not want to wait another week or so to return and get a replacement. The leaked polygel was clean so I scooped it out and saved what I could. It was a pain cleaning everything, but I'd rather do that then wait the time necessary to replace it. This was purely a manufacturing error though and does not seem to be a common issue looking at reviews. Besides that, the presentation was nice. Box was nice quality. The base and top coat bottles were classy looking. Everything was packaged well. Polygel does have a learning curve for newbies, but that is nothing specific to a brand. When you first try it does require practice to get the hang of things and get professional looking results. It doesn't take long though to produce acceptable looking cute nails and in my opinion is much easier to work with than acyrlics. I have since used another popular amazon polygel so I can compare to that the product quality. Both are durable and last just as long, but modelones is far easier to work with. It's not as stiff and sticky and spreads much easier. It's not too soft either and doesn't move much if at all after you get the shape you want. It cures in 60 seconds in my 36w lamp. I also have a 6w mini lamp and it cures with that too. These are sheer/clear colors and those tend to cure better than pigmented gels. They do have the sticky layer after curing that you need to wipe off with alcohol. I noticed a lot of people dont know that and think their polygel isn't cured. And if your gel truly is not curing then it's likely that your lamp is not good, and not the polygel since this stuff cures just fine for everyone else. The clear is not cloudy and encapsulated glitters very well. The peachy color is perfect for nail beds. They are 30ml tubes so you get a lot of product. The base coat adheres to the nail very well and keeps the polygel adhered to it. Ive used it with another brand of polygel and it worked well with that too. The top coat is thick but not too thick and extremely glossy. I even use the top coat to adhere small 4mm crystals and they do not budge. The top and base are very nice quality. The slip solution works fine with the modelones gel. This polygel doesn't require a lot of it to mold the product unlike the other polygel I've tried. I did not use the dual forms. I prefer tips so I cant speak on those, but they are included if you want to use them. The file is small but very sturdy and the sandpaper on it is nice and gritty. The brush is cheaper and does not have a picker on it because it's a "travel" brush. I will say the brush end is decent to work with though. The hairs keep their thin, pointed shape and are firm. It makes working with the gel so much easier. I bought a cheap picker brush off Ebay that looks nicer but the brush is crap compared to this travel brush. The hairs on that have frayed out and it doesn't have the pointed shape anymore. I far prefer this travel brush even though it doesnt have the picker end. I definitely recommend the modelones polygel and this kit. If you are a beginner then research everything you need first. I had a uv/led lamp already and just bought some nail primer and dehydrator and some glitter and crystals to start. This kit is cheaper than buying a bigger kit so you can see if its something youd enjoy first rather than spending double the price on a bigger kit and deciding polygel is not for you. Modelones polygel specifically is good for beginners as its consistency is easier to work with compared to another popular brand. But if you dont have a lamp then buying a kit with a lamp would be advisable since youd get more for your money than buying this kit and a separate lamp. Up to you. Plenty of research should be done before you just jump in to polygel though. It is unfortunate I got a defective kit but it doesnt seem to be a common issue so I feel ok recommending this one. Sometimes things happen and as long as they are few and far between then it's not a huge deal. Amazon would have replaced it had I wanted to do so. ... show more

  • Not for inexperienced nail tech
Color: A1-Nude
Recommend for experienced poly gel artist. Found this product not easy for someone who does not know poly gel. As a nail tech new to poly gel it was difficult to apply as dual form or overlay.
