  • Good quality item
Size: 6FT Color: Silver
Item was easy to assemble and looks better than the aluminum pole I had previously. I used this to replace a pole that rotated (over time the mechanism failed and I found the top part of the pole and flag in the bushes). I wanted to have a more continuous pole (no complications in the pole like a rotater) while avoiding black aluminum residue. This pole appears to be well suited for that. The joined pieces appear to be holding well and the flag brackets, although plastic, work acceptably. My only complaint is there is not a definitive "base section" All pieces are open ended and I would have preferred to have a solid plastic insert in the base section end (sections are all hollow) to provide some reinforcement on the securing screw in my base. I ended up removing the 4 inch one from my other aluminum pole and fit it to this one - works great, but was a retrofit. I was worried if the multisection design would be wobbly, but it does not appear to be having a problem despite a pretty good wind/breeze in the last couple of weeks. ... show more

  • Keeps your flag flying!
Size: 6FT Color: Silver
I'm almost embarrassed to say this, but I was suffering from 'flag pole envy'. It was aggravated by a neighbor whose flag always flies freely without wrapping itself multiple times around its pole. After my 4,379th time of going outside to unfurl my flag I called my neighbor and asked him what kind of pole he was using. He freely shared the brand of pole he was using. He mentioned that on Amazon the pole got a 4.9 star rating. Hopefully, yet skeptically, I ordered the unit and installed it. WOW! Be ye not a doubter! This one works. ... show more

  • Sectional flag pole and flag.
Size: 7FT Color: Silver
I have not installed the flag and pole yet so I cannot attest to the durability of either. So far I've broken three brackets and two poles and had 5 flags ripped to shreds in the last five years since I've flown one where I live now, so we shall seeπŸ‘€πŸ‘

  • Unfortunately, the engineering of this flag pole suffers some fatal consequences
Size: 6FT Color: Silver
So I HATE writing this. And I hate it because the company was actually super nice. They were responsive. They offered some suggestions. They even provided me with a credit to try and fix the problem I was having. If that solution had worked, I might not be writing this. But it didn't and so I think it's only fair to point out the shortcomings of this flag pole to people. I've seen a lot of 5-star reviews and so I'm guessing that either a lot of people have the flag either sheltered from wind or just live in an area that doesn't get much wind. My flag poles are on the front of my house, openly exposed to wind, and they blow around pretty constantly. I've had a flag pole for years. It's designed so that the entire pole area where the flag is attached can rotate. Basically it's a pipe on top of another pipe. I bought it on Amazon years ago, but I won't link to it here as I'm not trying to drum up business for them. I wanted to hang a second flag last month, the original one I bought was sold out, I wanted the flag poles to match, and so I bought TWO of these flag poles. These ones are designed so that there are two collets on the top and bottom that can freely spin. This is the same concept as the other pole I have, only it's JUST the little collet that spins. They've used a thumb screw to position them where you need them and then they have a small carabiner that attaches the flag to the spinning collet. The collets DO work. They DO spin freely. But there are two main engineering problems with this: 1) The thumbscrew sticks out so far that as the flag spins around, the carabiner winds up catching on the thumbscrew. It kind of twists itself into it and gets stuck (see attached photo). As soon as that happens, the flag can no longer freely spin and it gets twisted at that collet. I've positioned the thumbscrew in every which direction and it doesn't matter. It doesn't take but an hour or so before a gust comes along that spins the flag and the carabiner winds up getting stuck. Consequently, the flag is twisted up at least every hour. I realize they used a sizable thumbscrew to make it convenient to the user, but if this had been a flat screw with an allen (hex) key adjustment or something like that, I think this particular problem would go away. But that brings me to #2. 2) The second problem with TWO freely spinning collets, even if the thumbscrew problem were fixed, there is still an obvious engineering problem. If this were a much smaller flag, it might not be an issue. But for a standard 3x5' flag, it is. The problem happens when the wind hits the flag at a non-orthogonal angle. Basically where the speed of the wind at the bottom exceeds that of the top. Because the distance between the collets is roughly 3 feet, if the bottom part of the flag twists around before the top can, it still winds up getting twisted. And once it's twisted, it's almost impossible for it to correct itself. It just puts too much twisted tension on the flag against itself all twisted up (see other picture). I think all that would correct it is for the wind to not only change direction, but to hit the bottom part of the flag faster than the top to somehow whip the cloth of the flag back whence it came. But this doesn't happen in reality. So again, the company was super friendly, but this is just a poorly engineered flag pole design IMO. If you're using it indoors, it's perfect. If you're using it in a covered area where it just gets a little bit of a breeze, it's probably fine. But if you're actually using it where wind exists, it doesn't work. I've experimented with it on and off for two months now and I can't make it work. So I just have to bite the bullet, get rid of these, and purchase another one of the older flag poles I had when it's available again. Sorry guys :( ... show more

  • Needs some DIY improvement to be sturdy
Size: 7FT Color: Silver
The pole comes in several sections which need to be screwed together to make a 7ft pole. The material is stainless steel, but as many have stated it is very thin and the pipe will not withstand the heavy load when a 3x 5 embroidered US flag is attached. It would be best if you use a heavier weight flag to have the gravity ring adjuster work to keep the flag untangled. By the way, the rings need some light oil like used for sewing machine or armory. I also replaced the plastic adjustment bolts with M6-1.0 1/2 stainless steel hex-key bolts, this in order to have a stronger attachment and less a material sticking out where the flag could still catch something while moving. The trick we used and which makes this pole very sturdy and almost unbreakable is to insert in the stainless steel pole a 1/2 inch sprinkler pipe. Yes, a sprinkler pipe is flexible and can break. However, in the combination of using the outer shelf of the pole and being flexible inside it makes this pole very strong and still keeps it light in weight. In addition, we inserted Gorilla Glue with water spray on top of the sprinkler pipe as we pushed it inside the Stainless steel flag pole and that bonded even more and gave additional strength. If you use the Gorilla glue be prepared to clean up the foam bubbles that maybe come out at the screw-together sections. We ended up with this method with a very nice flag pole which is heavy duty and fits perfect in size at the side of our house entrance. Without these improvements you maybe not enjoying the pole as much. ... show more
