I got this in the Lark yellow. Straight out the box I thought this is way too shiny construction yellow and not pastel like the pics - but the color grew on me and once I got used to it I admit it is true to the pics - just took getting used to. Got compliments from other travelers and flight attendants on the color and cup holder. The wheels were like BUTTER. I have sensory issues and this wheeled like a dream. The buttery flow was very soothing. The phone holder on the handle was too big for my iPhone 16pro. I mean it “fit” but barely and kept falling off so I didn’t use it. That said, the cup holder, phone stand and handle all worked very well and appeared very durable. The handles were also comfortable to grab. The combination zipper locking mechanism was very convenient. Allowing TSA to open it with a special restricted use key without messing with my lock. I did not test out the charger ports built into the top of the suitcase next to the Lock The suitcase was very durable and portable. The yellow did scuff pretty easily. I will try and clean those off when I get home with a magic eraser. Overall a lovely travel piece. The price was more than I’d typically pay for luggage but I will keep this and likey buy more in the future. ... show more

I LOVE this bag! Packing this bag was a breeze! I love that it has one deep compartment rather than the clam shell opening to fill two separate sides. I easily fit everything in it. I’m packing for a week to an island beach location so pretty easy to pack a capsule wardrobe, not much big and bulky on this trip. I’m traveling on American and had no problem with the size for a carry on. I found a lightweight charger to put in the case to charge my phone when I need it. I love the cup holder, that’s the bomb. The wheels are very smooth rolling. They worked well on carpet on our hotel and it flew on the tile at the airport. I just boarded my flight and it fits great in the luggage holder above my seat. I will try and add some more photos of it so you can see real photos of the product. The one currently attached shows how nicely it works overhead. Update: just coming home from a week long vacation and this bag has traveled like a dream. Had to pull on some gravel and rougher in paved roads and it handles well. Everyone loves the cup holder and I’m currently charging my phone while I update my review. I definitely recommend this bag. One of my favorite purchases I have made :) ... show more

My ancient carry on soft side bag broke on my last trip, so I've spent countless hours reviewing and searching for the best replacement. The biggest complaint about luggage is the zippers break, and that's especially bad for hard shells. I also didn't like the design of the hardshells that zip in the middle with no access pocket on the outside like most soft sides have. That means that you have to expose all your stuff with 2 heavy sides to manage to open it. And if you have the expansion zipper system, that's even more problematic because it puts extra stress on the zippers. No wonder they break. Pros: THIS case has solved that zipper problem and it offers a lot of great features too. The cup holder is fantastic, very sturdy, stable, and it frees up my hands when need be. The wheels roll like butter in every direction. The extension telescoping handle is very sturdy too, no problems extending or retracting it. Don't use it to pick up your bag and you'll be fine. The bag has 2 handles top and side to make picking it up easy. The TSA locking system works beautifully and is well designed. The pop out bag holders and phone/ipad holder up by the handle is great, although I have no idea how much weight they can hold. That information would have been helpful in the instructions but alas, there weren't any. I love the deep box design so that it opens like a "lid" so all your stuff doesn't get exposed or fall out, and that "lid" is very light weight, with lightly padded pockets inside for organizing. Perfect to hold things you need easy access to. The shell itself is very sturdy, probably as close to unbreakable as can be. I read that magic erasers remove scuff marks easily, but I haven't needed to test that yet. As far as how much I can pack in it, it is a bit small but with compression cubes and a deep box design, I don't expect to have any trouble once I figure out how much fits and how to organize it. In fact I like this luggage so much I'm considering getting the 24" size for extended trips. Cons: The phone charger system has easy access with a cover to protect it so that's good. BUT no instructions were included in how to use it which is frustrating. The battery pack isn't included, so I bought a separate pack. The anker battery pack I chose didn't come with a charger so I had to go back and order one of those before I can even test it! wth? sigh. Because of that I haven't had a chance to use or test the phone charger thingy. I guess it works, if I can figure out how to connect everything. The luggage didn't come with instructions in how to use it. There are wires inside with 2 different plugs, but it's not clear to me how it all connects. Wishes: MIXI - please include instructions on how to use the battery pack and tell us how much weight the bag/phone holder on the handle can hold safely. That's ridiculous to not include that. It would be great if you bundled the luggage with the items we'll need too to make it easy. This kind of frustration is not the experience you want your customers to have, am I right? Also, I'm now searching for a duffle underseat stackable bag to fit on top of this one. It would have been great if MIXI offered them as a bundle or at least as an option designed to fit this luggage. So far I've tried 5 different underseat options from different brands, and am not delighted with any of them. Bottom line is, I LOVE THIS LUGGAGE! I've had a great time showing it off to friends, and everyone wants one too. :-) I have not had the opportunity to test it in the real world on a trip yet, but I anticipate no problems when I do. ... show more

If you are planning to get this because of the cup holder feature, DONT. Most cups don’t fit, and if they do, if they don’t fit perfectly the holder folds in on itself. Just is a useless feature I don’t use. Same goes for the notches that are supposed to hold your phone. I have an iPhone 15 and the notches are too far apart to hold it. The basic function of the suitcase is great!! The trunk style is awesome and holds a LOT, especially for a chronic over-packer like me. The handle is sturdy, the wheels move smoothly, it’s easy to carry. The lock is super simple and nice, a mechanism I use a lot, especially when I have to check my bag. That being said, it has gotten scuffed up easily. I have the yellow one, and have only checked it twice. The first time it was checked it came back with MAJOR scuffing unfortunately. Still would recommend for its basic functions, but don’t expect anything amazing from the little features. ... show more

The charging power bank has its only little pocket. Locket mechanism works great as well. Lots of room for your traveling items. So I just bought this suit case less then a month ago for vacation. Super excited about it. It rolled great. Thought it was the best until I locked it. I had set the lock at home knew the lock code it worked fine when testing it. So we are on vacation I locked a few valuables in my suit case with my lock code I knew. I could not get it open. It would not open for anything. Tried everything under the sun to get it open and it would not work. Had to call the lock smith. He could not get it open either. Finally he cut the lock to get it open. I had tried to call the customer number for Maxi but they would not answer my calls. Bottom line don’t buy this suit case if you plan on using the lock. Waisted a good part of our vacation day to try to get it open. The lock smith said he could feel our code was right but it still couldn’t get it open. Think twice before buying!! ... show more

My main reason for making this review is to help any future buyers considering to purchase this carry-on because while I was trying to decide to buy this carry-on luggage I was extremely hesitant. It wasn't really a major or well known brand (at least not in the United States), there wasn't really much I could find in terms of reviews outside of Amazon and it was my first time buying a carry-on luggage. And so I wanted to just compile some information that I found helpful and leave them in one place to hopefully help make the next person's decision a little easier. Short Review: I'm loving the Mixi 20 inch carry-on luggage. I have yet to use it on an actual trip, but will be using on a trip coming up soon. I tested it when it arrived, which included testing the cup holder, phone stand, the handle, the charging ports, the tsa lock, the zipper, and wheels. I even filled it with clothes and rolled it around my house on hard wood floors and carpet. After all of that I can confidently say I like it and everything works fine. My only complaint is actually what I expected after reading some reviews for a similar luggage by Hanke (that I found on reddit): the handle to pole connection doesn't have a very smooth transition and so bags placed over the handle are not easily taken off. I don’t think this will be a big issue for me though, but I'll have to see with time. Long review: When I entered the carry-on luggage market I was faced with the BIG question of hard or soft shell. It was certainly overwhelming and I liked the idea of a hard shell, but hated the clam shell opening style, which was unfornately prevalent amongst all the major brands (Samsonite, Monos, Level 8, Away, July, etc.). So I thought that for this sole reason I would end up with a soft shell since I preferred the top opening design. However, I was extremely reluctant to go with a soft shell because of the lack of stand out color options. Enter stage left, Mixi. After searching for a carry-on for a few days and literally saying out loud the day before finding Mixi "I wish there was a hard shell with a soft shell's top opening design", the personalized ads brought me to Mixi via this video by a travel vlogger on youtube. The carry-on immediately piqued my interest and got me excited. I loved the the unique design, the color and the functional little features like the charging ports, cup holder and phone stand. At the same time it raised my skeptic red flags. How could a carry-on like this exist, but not be a hot topic? I didn’t really want to trust a travel vlogger and there honestly wasn't much I could find on the company, which didn't help. And so I hit the reviews. There were tons of reviews, but these two stood out the most and definitely helped me make my decision to purchase. Thought it was going to be junk but it’s actually really good. Wheels roll super smooth. I fly almost every week. Bag has held up well. The top opening is awesome. Some much easier to pack vs clamshell style. Coffee holder is cool but I don’t really use it much. I will say this bag is not designed for the rigors of checked bags. Purely a carry on bag. That’s 95% of my travel. When I need to check a bag a use something more suitable for the beating checked bags take. ... show more
