We have been extremely happy with these trays! Our Kindergartener started learning about plants at school, so we figured we would buy some seeds and growing trays and just see what happens, in an effort to help with that learning process at home. The trays were extremely easy to put together. It didn't come with a USB wall adapter, but we have plenty of those from other things. So, we got the USB cord plugged into the adapter and then plugged it into the outlet. Each grow light chord funneling into one big chord also made it super easy! Our kindergartener only needed help clicking the lights in place when getting everything set up. We love that the trays the plants come in are removable so we can check the water amounts in the main trays. We LOVE that we can see the roots to the plants as they grow! We didn't think the plants would grow so quickly and so well! It's great that the covers were a bit taller too, to help with room for growth. So, now we plan to transplant those plants to bigger pots and start some more seeds! Our little is so excited about the plants and checks on the trays each morning before school and each night before bed. All in all, this first year was an absolute success and I'm 100% happy with this purchase. We may get a growing shelf and make this a yearly thing.

I recently bought a different brand and was completely dissatisfied with the quality and cheap plastic it was made of. It came bent to where the lid didn't even work right. I returned that item and found this item and ordered it. It came within 2 days. What caught my attention the most about these trays over the rest was the pictures showing how sturdy the material looked. Well the pictures don't lie. The material is sturdy and the tray design has the added benefit of being able to clearly see the water levels and root development. These trays are reusable and I'm sure can withstand several seasons. If you buy cheap trays they'll probably crumble and cause more headaches than necessary. Buy these, they're well worth the price. The plastic is made of high quality grade plastic that's made to last unlike the other purchase and fits perfectly over the tray. I am so happy that I found this item. I order a couple sets of these to start seeds for spring. I've already used a few of them and find them to be very durable and easy to use. I especially like the little disk that goes on top to control the humidity. That has worked well in that you can control each tray separately. They are durable enough that I would expect to used them for multiple seasons and I especially like that they all stack together nicely for storage. I initially thought them a bit pricey but I do think they are well worth it. Recently had to do a bunch of new seeds and they require a very humid environment, so I got a couple of these and transferred the freshly germinated seeds from test-tubes to these better containers and then put them in this dome so far I've noticed some pretty great improvements for more than half of the seeds. this thing really keeps the humidity perfect, if you don't like it you can rotate the plastic green spots to vent. will definitely be buying more of these in the future. I am excited to keep using them and start some hot peppers in them next week.

I bought this not knowing if it would be worth it but, I was pleasantly surprised. I don't do much seed starting and I have not had success and this proved to work pretty good. I only started two seeds this spring but it was successful enough that I am planning on expanding this next year. The covers aren't really tall enough once a seedling starts to get some height but I made it work by raising the cover a bit by propping it up. By the time they were planted outdoors they had a head start and filled in beautifully. UPDATE: Well it is now "next year"! And I have started one plus tray and I am pleased even though it is pretty early. But going from my previous year it isn't bad. This year I planted: Tomato seeds, parsley seeds, lettuce seeds, green pepper seeds and I think a few bunching onion seeds? The lettuce, tomatoes, parsey have popped up and today I see my first green pepper plant peeking through! But I want to comment that the tomatos are leggy which is ok because I can transplant them deeper but they soon hit the top of my lighted lid. So though I would share my solution! Small but mighty in terms of space saving and plant germination. Great for people germinating early spring plants in a back bedroom. So good, in fact, that I bought a bunch more and found out a gardening buddy had the same experience. We both agreed that seedlings can only be raised in these for about 5 weeks, then they need to be hardened off outdoor and placed in a greenhouse to finish before setting outside in the ground or container in a challenging climate like western Colorado (5b). The light does cause some condensation on the lid under surface, which may or may not drip onto the seedlings. In a super dry climate, it's best to check these units once a day to make sure that moisture levels are correct. Having a little water collect in the bottom of the lightweight trays is a very good thing in a dry, indoor environment.

These are okay. The plastic was surprisingly a decent strength. My issue is that the lights and wires get very hot — and the lids don’t secure on. They’re just sitting on top.

I’m a first time gardener and was looking for something to start my plants indoors until I could transfer them out to my greenhouse and I landed on these. It comes with 4 containers, and lights. I’ve had really good luck and everything seems to be growing well so far. They’re made very well and are super easy to put together.
