The miter angle is far easier to read for my aging eyes than the straight cut - but since I only use it for miter cuts, it's definitely worth it. The tool has been VERY accurate and is well made. Best tool I have bought to help with trim. Easy to use, accurate and created a great trim and baseboard installation with many difficult angles. I like you can read the exact saw angle setting right from the gauge, no math or mistakes.

I purchased this for installing baseboard based on another review. I wish the instructions included information for this use. I looks like an accurate measurement device.

    • I am Sort of blind without my readers- but can read and i love having this
my miter saw has been thru alot of use and punishment. I didnt really think about looking for somethign like this as they cuts were pretty close, but well i found this as a suggested add on at one time, bought, and now i wish i had it along time ago. I can read it well. Maybe for heavier use get the metal one. but this works well for 1 or 2 times a month use. i have also found other uses for this than just aligning correct angles on the miter saw. I have used mine to determine the angle of my horse shoot sticks in conjunction with a level. so many uses. good buy ... show more

    • Accuracy is awesome, but at the cost of ease to use
I had to figure this out...went online...the directions were printed so small that it was impossible for me to use them...once I learned how, then I had to overcome the small printing on the gauge itself... hampers the use and ease of the tool, so expect a little frustration.

Even with my glasses and in good light the measurements are extremely hard for me to see. I think if you use reading glasses you will prefer a digital version where it is easy to see the readout even if some bit of accuracy is given up.

    • A must for any type of miter cut
The pros use this to get tight trim cuts on any kind of corners. I like the simplicity. Takes the guess work out of cutting moldings and baseboards. It's just a protractor...lol. Buy it you won't regret it.

I was struggling to cut some trim with odd outside cut for weeks. With this thing I was done in a few minutes. Amazing product!!! Wish I knew about it before. Just go ahead and buy it. Its cheap plastic but it totally gets the job done. It has stickers on the handle so they will prob fall off at some point but if they do I will glue them back on, lol. I would buy again it it breaks. Good product at half the price of the other guys. ... show more
