Description

Performance Jeeps deserve performance Jeep parts. That's why we've developed an update for our 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK radiator. Mishimoto’s V1 JK radiator has served as a substantial upgrade over the stock plastic radiator, but after hearing feedback from our customers, We wanted to push the limits even further. With the off-road enthusiast in mind, Mishimoto has developed the V2 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK radiator. This new radiator incorporates several updates that bolster the performance and durability of the Wrangler's cooling system. As with many of our radiators, this updated radiator provides a substantial size increase over stock. An 18% greater core volume, fin area, and external tube area, along with a 13% increase in coolant capacity, allow MMRAD-WRA-07V2 to keep up with the cooling needs of even the most demanding off-road machine. Of course, reliability is also a major concern for any Wrangler owner. Mishimoto has devoted countless hours of R&D to bring the JK market A stronger, more reliable radiator. Our V2 radiator features extruded, internally strutted tubes to help combat flex within the core. • Super Nice!!
2017 JKU ... Direct fit . First thing's first.. This radiator is sexy af.. the welds look like perfection and the overall quality of this thing is excellent. With that said,, only time will tell, so if I have any issues from this point forward, I will update my review. The install from start to finish was about 1.5 hour. I was not in any hurry and took my time to do everything properly. I used a youtube video as a guide but it was all pretty straight forward except for one of the hidden bolts that the video was great on showing me. If your bumper is completely stock (mine is not) this may take you a little longer due to all the plastic clips and crap from the factory... Over all this is a very average install and anyone with some mechanical ability should be able to do it. I hated paying this much for a radiator, but I was on my second replacement in 2 years, so I had to do something different. Hoping this V2 holds up better than the original that i see so many reviews on. I'll keep you all posted ... show more

  • Not a direct fit into 2010 JKU Wrangler Sahara
I really wanted to love this radiator. Two prior replacements for the original radiator failed in 3 years, including a replacement Mopar unit, so I decided to bite the bullet and shell out for an all-aluminum, high end unit from Mishimoto, hoping it would solve all my problems easily. Unfortunately, that didn't really happen. Radiator came on time, packaged well. Unit is built like tank. But . . . not a direct fit at all. The prior two radiators were each about a 2-hour install - very straight forward. Both prior replacement radiators fit right in like a glove, including the first (cheapo) unit that was probably an unwise purchase. The Mishimoto, on the other hand, despite being much more expensive, had serious issues with its fit. After struggling with it for quite a while, I determined that the threaded stand-off at the upper driver's side, for the threaded connection on the side to the AC support bracket, was about 5mm too tall. That is, the distance from the center of the upper-left mounting hole on the front of the unit, to the end face of the stand off, was about 37mm as supplied. On the OEM Mopar unit it's closer to 32mm. Far enough off that there was no way one could connect the AC cooler at the side, and at the four front-facing bolts simultaneously. This was a very annoying situation that, after I struggled with it for some time, I decided to address by cutting 5mm off the Mishimoto stand-off to make it match the Mopar unit. See the attached photos, where you can see the Mopar unit, and the Mishimoto unit in its original state, with some layout fluid marking the cut-off point, and after modification with the cut-off shortened. Shortening the stand-off made it too short to receive the supplied bolt, so I had to shorten one of those, too. After this modification I was able to get both the side bolt and the upper- left front-facing bolt in at the same time. But even then the hole spacings on the Mishimoto for the four front-facing bolts were not lined up with exactly the apertures on the AC cooler. Instead, I had to address misalignment issues widening the play on the AC cooler apertures with a die grinder. Even then the units ended up under more stress than is normal, which I am hoping does not lead to failure of either the Mishimoto or the AC cooler over time. Finally the Mishimoto unit went in, but only a much harder, longer day than I was expecting. The install was much harder and longer than with the other two radiators I've installed previously in the same vehicle. God forbid you should hand this Mishimoto to a mechanic you are paying by the hour to install it in your vehicle for you. No telling how that will end. Now that the Mishimoto is in, it looks great, is solidly attached, doesn't leak, and with luck will outlast the rest of the vehicle. The coolant temperature is rock solid, at only 4 degrees F above the thermostat temp. So, so far, so good. The scrapes, bruises, and sore muscles I received from installing the unit are healing and I'm sure in a month or so I won't have a clear memory of them at all. But as I am writing this review I still do remember them, and so I'm giving only 3 stars. ... show more

  • Several holes dont line up!
I watched the video install for my jeep on mishimotos website and they didnt address a lateral nut that holds the a/c condenser onto the radiator. probably because the hole will not line up with the radiator. Nor did they show you need to take out the headlight to gain access to the bolt. They also didnt show how the plastic covering that protects you on top of the radiator from getting burned by the radiator no longer fits properly because the new radiator sticks out much further than the original radiator. It looks tacky and like I dont care about my workmanship, but nothing could be further from the truth. I am concerned over the long haul that the a/c condenser instability may cause a strain on the lines bc its not secure to the radiator like the factory radiator was. We will see, but like I said im not thrilled about the outcome and workmanship due to faulty design. ... show more

  • Easy Install
Please see photos. Product was way bigger than factory (huge plus). Installing took about 90 minutes, not rushing. Looks awesome. You can actually tell the heat is being moved. One of my holes didn’t line up properly but with two pry bars, I was able to get it inlined while someone screws it in. Installed on my 2015 Wrangler Unlimited. ... show more
