  • Sturdy boots - Less flexible than I was expecting
Update: I am debating returning. The sole is pretty hard and there isn't a lot of cushioning. I generally prefer less cushioning for kids shoes, but that only works if the sole is soft enough on it's own. I looked under the white foam insole and saw a hard thin pink layer. I looked to see if it could be removed but it is glued down. Parts of the edge of it were loose so I felt underneath and I realized that the heel of the shoe has parts that are hollow under this pink portion. Someone else cut open the shoe after their child has worn it beyond repair. You can see in the picture that the heel has black ridges. I do not like this because if I were to rip off the pink layer, these bumps would be uncomfortable. That shoe seemed to have some kind of felt like material that I do not think is present in this shoe, but I cannot be sure since I have not deconstructed it. Original Review: I bought these shoes for an active 5 year old little girl. I did not specifically buy them for hiking but as a shoe to wear for warmer weather in the fall and winter. I am interested in more minimalist shoes for children because their feet are still developing and a shoe that mimics being barefoot has benefits such as additional sensory input, more natural movement, improved balance, foot/toe flexibility, and foot strengthening. However, as an adult. I do not wear minimalist/zero drop shoes myself because I have flat feet and they do not meet my needs. Likes: sturdy, toe area does flex, close to zero drop, supportive heel counter (back of the shoe - a lot of canvas shoes do not have a stiff heal counter), & affordable. High top boot style is good for toe walkers. Size 13 seemed fairly accurate. It definitely wasn't small which is what I was worried about. If anything it was a tiny bit big. Dislikes: would prefer no toe spring, sole is stiffer than expected (it looked more flexible in the pictures similar to a true barefoot shoe), wish the toe box was more foot/fan shaped, not 100% zero drop (slight heel). Minor style complaints - would like more neutral color pairings or monochromatic color pairings (ex: current color combos of pink and green, purple in red, blue and red, yellow and black all tend to stand out and sometimes you want the shoe to blend in) & would like if some styles with laces were available as they give the most secure fitting. I also wish the outer rubber sole was not gray for almost every shoe. I prefer would white. The shoe does have a bit of a chemical smell (most new shoes do in my opinion), but it should be fine once I air it out for a bit. For those looking for a barefoot/ minimalist/zero drop style shoe, this doesn’t meet all the criteria. You have to press down pretty hard for the toe area to bend and there is no way you could roll this shoe into a ball like some minimalist shoes. It also has a rather stiff toe spring (at least new out of the box - I can’t speak to how it will be once it’s been worn). It’s still has a lot of good qualities though so I am giving it a high rating. ... show more

  • So durable!
I have a 5 year old boy that is hard on everything, but especially shoes (and knees of pants, but that’s irrelevant). These hiking boots are so stinking cute, go with everything, can wear to dress up or down, and are SO DURABLE. We’re on 4 months of rough wear, and they are going strong. Will definitely be purchasing these in the next size up when it’s time. ... show more

  • Really good construction, great for hiking and outdoors
This is our second pair of Mishansha boots. They look good, my son loves the feel, they are easy to clean, they keep his foot dry in wet conditions, and awesome price. Highly recommend

  • Sturdy and quality materials
Bought for my kid after he transitioned out of AFOs to provide sturdiness for his ankles. He likes the green accents and easy to put on himself

  • Daughter loves it
Bought this for hiking shoes of my 2 yrs old daughter and it fits perfectly fine with a little room in it. The size 7.5 fits right. Gladly i purchased it. The only down thing is that it was shipped without a box just a plastic wrap. Nothing serious but it bent near the toe box of the shoes and showing a crease. That’s fine with me cause it’s for a little kid. Additional review: After a few hours of walking on trail i’ve noticed the spikes on sole specially in the outer corner are worn out already. My daughter is barely 2 yrs old and just a light walk. This shoes won’t last a year for sure. Maybe a couple more hikes then this goes in the trash can. Poor quality. ... show more
