Description

Protect your plants from over and under watering with Miracle-Gro® Moisture Control® Potting Mix. This gardening product feeds plants for up to 6 months and Grows Plants Twice As Big!® In addition, the exclusive AquaCoir® Formula absorbs up to 33% more water than basic potting soil. This potting mix works best with all types of outdoor container plants, including flowers, shrubs, vegetables, annuals, perennials, and more. To apply, select a pot with a drain hole and fill about 1/3 full with potting mix. Loosen your plant's root ball and place it in the pot. Add more mix and press in lightly. To finish, water your plant and let it drain. Let mix dry to the touch between waterings. To avoid soil compaction and replenish nutrients, container plants should be repotted annually. It's a good size for plant beginners. This is the second time I buy it. There was enough soil for 12 plants and the bag can last you up to 6 months (if you don't have a lot of plants). It's also very cheap compared to other prices.

UPDATE: It's now July, my plants ARE THRIVING. Great soil. The plants in them are healthy, growing fast. I know very little about plants, but have a friend who does and mine are mostly in shade, so she picked the right kind for that amount or lack of sun. She had even found a plant just growing wild behind a shed here and repotted in this soil, and it started flowering. SO YES, I will always get this kind. _________________________________________________ I wanted a good sized pot of plants near my entryway and got this soil, put it in a large pot and a friend picked up some plants and planted for me, but I had to keep them alive.     • A good potting soil mix for moisture retention

I like Miracle Grow products in general as they have always worked fine when I have used them in the past. This was the first I had purchased this specific version of Miracle Grow potting soil, having used their basic or cactus lines in the past. Compared to their basic potting soil, this line does retain moisture quite a bit longer. I used this product in planting both new seedlings entirely in this mix and also used some of this soil to supplement soil in older potted plants chipmunks had dug out when scavaging our potted plants kept outside when warm. So far this moisture retaining soil has worked fine as in neither case did the plants require the soil to dry out between waterings. For any plants that do not like the soil on the dry side this soil appears to be a great choice. But if your plants do like their soil on the drier side of things I would not recommend this version of Miracle Grow soil as you might end up with root rot because it does stay so damp. I actually have cut back on my watering routine since using this soil as a result. I honestly am not sure I would purchase this again as their other basic soil line has always worked well in the past. ... show more

I bought 2 bags thinking I would need all of it to re-pot two medium-sized plants. I only needed part of one bag. The soil is lightweight and seems to hold moisture well. The plants were only in water for many, many years, so I am hoping that the shock of repotting into soil won't be disastrous. I am hope that this Miracle-Gro will keep them thriving with its moisture control and minerals, etc. ... show more

I loved the high quality potting soil,the moisture control formulation is appealing to me. The price is great especially if youre using it to mix with premium stuff like FoxFarms Happy frog soil.itd expensive. Only thing i dont like about the miracle grow is it doesnt have mychorrizae to help the plants. If they added that, they be a lil bit higher up the food chain. ... show more
