Description

Protect your plants from over and under watering with Miracle-Gro Moisture Control Potting Mix. This gardening product feeds plants for up to 6 months and Grows Plants Twice As Big (vs. unfed plants). In addition to promoting plant growth, the exclusive AquaCoir Formula absorbs up to 33% more water than basic potting soil that does not contain sphagnum peat moss, coir, and a wetting agent. This potting soil for plants works best with all types of outdoor container plants, including flower pots, shrubs, vegetables, annuals, perennials, and more. To apply, home gardeners should select a pot with a drain hole and fill about 1/3 full with potting mix. Loosen your plant's root ball and place it in the pot. Add more mix and press in lightly. To finish, water your plant and let it drain. Let mix dry to the touch between waterings. To avoid soil compaction and replenish nutrients, container plants should be repotted annually. We recommend wearing gardening gloves when using this or other planting materials when you're container gardening. Having been gardening for over 60 plus years indoors and out in TX my advice to you is that if you’re going to invest money, time and energy into gardening soil only use Miracle Gro for superior results. They have soil for every plant variety imaginable. This one is an excellent all purpose soil for most pot plants. That being said: It really does . . . Help with moisture control but don’t overwater. More plants are killed by overwatering because roots can’t get oxygen. Using a simple moisture meter inserted into the pot helps get correct watering and light needs. Feed plants for up to six months before needing to start supplemental fertilizing. Promote growth in indoor containers of houseplants and herbs. Each bag will fill two 8” containers. Work very well with plants under grow lights. Two bags of potting soil were received in excellent condition with no moisture or noticeable mold and was fresh with no bad odors. I'm not a gardener. But tried this with a few potted plants and it was very good. Tried a less expensive kind, but plants didn't like it. Thinking of planting flowers in the ground this year, which I haven't done for several years. Apparentrly this is the potting mix to use.

Awesome moisture rich soil for 6 months with watering every couple days in large planters for plants and tomato plants. Mixes great with miracle gro potting soil half and half in large container planters for tomatoes and green indoor plants.

    • I'm new to gardening- this seems to dry out quickly, but plants seem to like it!

Relatively new at gardening- I like this potting mix as it seemed light enough to give my new seedlings a good start when I up potted from seed trays; however, it seems to dry out really quickly. That's not necessarily bad- I just have to water daily- sometimes twice a day. Maybe that's normal? Could be other factors like overall humidity/temp of the room they are in.
