Description

Grow amazing houseplants with Miracle-Gro® Indoor Potting Mix. Blended for a wide variety of container plants, this potting mix is designed to be less prone to gnats. This mix feeds indoor plants for up to 6 months, and the easy-to-water formula includes coconut coir holds and releases water and helps the soil re-wet. Apply this potting soil to indoor potted plants, including common houseplants, tropicals, climbing plants, foliage plants, and flowering plants. To use, select a pot with a drain hole and fill about 1/3 full with potting mix. Loosen the plant’s root ball and place it in the pot. Add more mix and press lightly. Water the plant; let it drain. Mix should be allowed to dry to the touch between waterings. To avoid soil compaction and replenish nutrients, container plants should be repotted every year. One 6 qt. bag of Miracle-Gro® Indoor Potting Mix fills four 6-inch containers. Contains no compost or bark, which are known to shelter fungus gnats.

I usually go for cheaper soils because I don’t want to pay a premium for dirt lol. I bought this online during quarantine because I was trying to grow lemon plants and green chillis from vegetable waste. I have tried this experiment with other soils before and none of my seeds sprouted. This time I had almost a 100% success rate. My lemon plant is now 3 inches tall. My Serranos are 1 inch each and even my Hawaiian papaya sprouted! I’m really excited about my baby plants. I also managed to regrow my garlic and green onions using this soil. I really love it. The only negative is that there seems to be a layer of fungus growing on the surface of my soil and all of my pots started sprouting mushrooms as well. I don’t know why. I think it’s cz the soil is very nutritious? Anyway. I definitely recommend it. But the soil is very light and airy so the bag contains a lot less than you would think initially. ... show more

I like the nice light, Fluffiness of it. It does shrink a bit in the pot, as it begins to dry out. But that just reminds me to water my plants. No problems, so far. My seedlings are all looking good. I have NOT had any insect nor Mold problems so far, and it's been about 6 days. I'll let you know......... UPDATE 10/23/2020: My review of this still stands, BUT: I've become a Believer, that this soil is NOT the best for Cannabis Home Grow. For that, it's a bit persistent in Nitrogen. When cannabis begins to Flower, it needs less N, and more Phosphorus & Potassium. For cannabis Home Grows, I recommend something else, as you can't get the N OUT of the soil. With this soil, you will likely get reduced yields. All the Pros were yelling at me for using MG and I did not listen. Not MG's fault. ... show more

The fact this is an indoor soil and I was repotting some inside plants it seemed this was what I needed. I repotted my plants, the soil was what I expected when I ordered. I have ordered several times. I know how to treat the soil and kill the eggs/larvae and adults to keep them from being an issue... but many new plant parents do not know these things, and the amount of gnats can be insane. It is a good base for your own potting mixture, once you have treated it (I bake mine). On its own, it is far too dense and will hold too much water. But when mixed with bio-char, perlite, ground cinnamon, orchid bark and other such items, it is a good base. ANY potting mix can have gnats... but this product has become almost known for it. I've been using Miracle-Gro for many many years. I am a big fan of allowing my houseplants the best drainage possible, so I mix this houseplant potting mix with Miracle Gro's cactus mix. I do a 50 - 50% mixture of the two products. While I like this potting mix a lot, I personally find it a little dense for my liking. The cactus mix adds more "fluff" if you will. It's less dense and allows for better drainage. But this is a very clean, great smelling product and I use it all the time. ... show more

My hyacinth is skyrocketing, my Pothos is getting back a ton of leaves after losing both of its vines, my cactus is blooming for the first time since I got it a couple years back, and my shamrock has the most blooms I've ever seen on it. It was rough for a bit after moving and having subpar soil, but they're definitely getting better and recovering. I know some reviewers were complaining about this but I've had no issues with bugs at all either and I've been using this for months now. I recent repotted my shamrock which is why it looks droopy, but you can see the new growth that's doing well in the middle. ... show more

5/5 rating I ordered this bag of soil last night for a much needed repotting. I have a plant a co-worker gave me.Not exactly sure the type.. It's fro the Dracaena Fragrans family. I've had it for almost a year and should have re-potted it MONTHS ago. I saw it slowly wilting away and realized I need to do something and FAST.. Many of the leaves fell off. I went into emergency surgery mode and bought a new pot as well as indoor potting soil. After I removed from the old pot I could see that the roots grew to be very long and circled the inside of the pot. The root ball was thick and congested. I was able to clear all the old exhausted soil, trim some of the roots straighten the others out and put in a new pot with this soil. I could almost see an immediate difference. This soil is super light, compact and airy. I was able to transplant the plant and I can see her standing tall again. I watered and showered the plant , trimmed some of the really long roots and now she's looking like she's living her best life. I was skeptical about the potting soil but I'm a believer now. It's helped my plant stand tall again and this is within 12 hours of repotting. ... show more
