ā­ My Experience: I bought this specifically to keep on hand for my dogā€™s nails, and after trying a styptic pen/pencil first, Iā€™m SO glad I switched to the powder. The styptic pen I bought did not work for me at all when my dogā€™s nails started bleeding. I tried applying it directly to the nail multiple times, but it just wasnā€™t stopping the bleeding. With the Kwik Stop powder, Iā€™ve had a completely different experience. It works SO much better for me, and Iā€™m really glad I gave the powder a try. šŸ¾ How I Use It: I put a small amount of powder into the cap, then dip the bleeding nail directly into the powder. Usually, it stops the bleeding on the first or second dunk. I only use a tiny amount at a time, so there is very little waste. ā±ļø How Quickly It Works: This is probably my favorite thing about it. When a nail starts bleeding, I donā€™t want to spend several minutes trying different things while my pet is walking around. With this, I can usually dip the nail once or twice and have the bleeding stopped. šŸ  No More Blood Tracks: Having something that works quickly is a lifesaver when a petā€™s nail gets trimmed too short. It helps prevent them from walking around leaving little blood tracks all over your floors and carpets while youā€™re trying to get the bleeding under control. šŸ’— Pain Relief: The packaging says this contains benzocaine to help relieve pain, which I really like as an added benefit. Obviously, the main reason I bought it was to stop the bleeding, but knowing it also provides pain relief if you accidentally cut a nail too short and it hurts them. My dog acts completely fine after I put it on itā€™s like nothing even happened. I know he canā€™t talk, but thereā€™s no limping or anything. šŸ“¦ Amount & Value: When I first opened the container, I was a little surprised that it wasnā€™t filled to the top. However, after actually using it, I realized that a little bit of this powder goes a VERY long way. You only need a small amount in the cap for each use, and based on how little Iā€™ve needed so far, I expect this container to last me several years. So even though I initially thought there should be more in the container, I really donā€™t think Iā€™ll need to buy another one for a very long time. šŸŽ’ Portability: The container is small and lightweight, so itā€™s easy to keep with my pet grooming supplies or take with me if needed. It doesnā€™t take up much space at all. šŸ¶ For Dogs, Cats & Birds: The packaging says this is made for dogs, cats, and birds, so itā€™s nice to have one product on hand if you have multiple types of pets. šŸ’Æ Would I Recommend It? We really like this product. It is very useful if you accidentally cut their nail too short and it bleeds, between the clotting ingredients plus the fact that it is a powder that once it hits the liquid (bleeding) it also combines to help the clot stay there. We have tried other products like a gel before but those were not good options for our needs because the gel would hit the bleeding source and gel on liquid doesnā€™t hold in the exact spot to help the clot form and stay in place. This also helps with pain control of the spot on your animal to offer some comfort there. The size of this container is a larger size than most you can get elsewhere and it has a lid for storage so you can keep it for more than one use. The price is great for the amount you get on top of the fact you get a long life out of the product. We are able to pack this in our Dobermans luggage (yes she gets her own small suitcase for all her needs) and the screw on lid allows it to be portable without leaking and spilling making it a great product for on the go in case of an emergency out ā€œin the wild" as they say. Our girl has done well with the product and has not had any issues, sometimes other products if the pet was to lick it would make their tummy upset, but she has licked her paw with this on and has not had any issues so she is a happy girl. We would really recommend this to anyone that cuts their pets nails, travels with a pet, and for our pet emergency first aid kit. ... show more

I have this on standby just in case my show chickens move and I go too far. Wich hasn't happened yet but my dog did. I used this and it stopped bleeding instantly and he stopped wimpering thankfully. It fits in small corners and is not so stinky the powder is soft and nice

I originally learned about styptic powder at a bird expo and picked this up to keep on hand. I try to trim my bird's nails myself but... occasionally I might cut one a little too short. This has been helpful for quickly stopping minor bleeding when that does happen. Also, I also have an outdoor cat that occasionally brings home live birds, and I've used it when I've found some minor bleeding injuries on them.
