Once assembled and deployed there was wobble still from side to side. I drilled and tapped the opposite side of the bracket for a second bolt and now it's solid. Other reviews mentioned that it was held together with only one bolt, with the second bolt added that should ease that concern.

This is just an incredibly convenient piece of hardware! It's well made, thick, looks like anodized aluminum with a powder coated black shell. You can actually slide it in both directions if you take the stopper screw out. I'd definitely buy it again! Warming though, minnkota includes a thumb screw with a bladed wing, and it does not clear the base of the bow. It's 1/4-20 threading, so I just put a different, hex head, bolt in there. Silly oversight though, it could have just been one of those round knurled ones! One more thing, no stainless steel hardware, come on! I added my own. ... show more

The new generations of trolling motors are very expensive which makes them highly sought after and proned to thievery. This adapter plate will give you a piece of mind and keep your investment safe. Whether you store your boat outside, need to head into a store before or after fishing or park the boat anywhere you can take your trolling motor off in minutes and lock away safely. Another feature that many do not know about is load/unload slide back clearance. The new trolling motors extend a bit beyond the front of the boat. When loading or un loading your motor could get damaged if positioning is not correct. Before load and unload just slide the motor back and no more worries. I have had zero problems with this product, am not endorced and would highly recomend adding this to your boat. Just one more very important tip. If this product makes it easier for you to get off it will for thieves as well so put a lock on it if you don't remove it. A decent size paddle lock fits through the added lock hole. ... show more

the quick release is very handy, the mount is tough and secures the motor well. My only complaint is when the motor is in certain directions at lower speeds the mount rattles a little, but it rattles between the two plates, not between the plate and the hull i am going to put a little bead of silicone on the mount track to see if that will give it a little cushion to reduce the rattle, if that doesn't work ill thread another hole in it and use a wing nut to tighten the top bracket down onto the bottom one rather than just having one side locking wing nut. ... show more
