I will definitely buy this brand again. This was easy enough to build for a first timer, I've never built any miniature but found this engaging and easy enough without feeling too simple. The quality of the board pieces seems very good, they are sturdy. Even breaking the tabs on a few didn't make a difference in the outcome. If you do end up breaking off a tab on one of the little pieces, like I did, just use a bit of glue and hold the piece in place for a few minutes and it will turn out fine. Like others said, there are A-LOT of books to make, but I didn't mind. They really add to the beauty of this little library. The lights and the glass cover really add the perfect touch to this book nook. They make it easy to see the details and will keep it dust free.

I have done well over 100 3D wooden mechanical models/kits with another 30+ left to do. I also have well over 60 Book Nook kits and finished close to or a little over 30 of them already. Since starting to do the Book Nooks, I have realized many important things. But 1 of them stands out as The most important to me ... MiniCity is by far the best company for these kits out there. They not only think up some incredibly crazy and beautiful designs that take your breath away, they also take great care in making their products. They do that by using really good materials and are strictly firm on the fact their customers receive the utmost positive experience and make sure to give any assistance possible. I own all but 1 of their kits and their "Beyond Library" is an unbelievable design and kit. Truly amazing!! (I will try to get my pics up very soon.) When I received it and opened it up, I honestly could not believe what I was looking at! The thought and care that was put into this kit is incredible. The material used is updated and crazy good. This update helps you see what part number goes to what without needing a foglight and magnifying glass as most do! I honestly just cannot say enough good about it. Now, there might be a hiccup that you come across with any kit you do if you are a perfectionist. Unfortunately, because of the job(s), I had to do for a couple of people, I've become one and it is not an easy thing to "grow out of". So, with that said, I needed to step back and think ... "Would you Really see that when you look into the book nook after it is completed?" If the answer was "No". I let it go. Easy to do. However, if you do come across an issue, I strongly suggest you reach out to MiniCity before you do anything else. They WILL make it right. They truly do care. I will give you a warning here: If you are new to doing Book Nooks, do Not start with this one! It has many more fragile pieces than others and that mainly has to do with the amazing plastic step guards they created for this kit, as well as other items. And like most Book Nooks, you MUST take your time and PAY attention!! If you are someone who does not have much patience, You WILL make a mistake and/or break something. If you are not able to concentrate on what you're doing, you WILL make a mistake and/or break something. If you are someone who just likes instant gratification? Get a 30-piece puzzle and call it a day. HAHA. Almost every book nook I've come across, and I have well over 60 of the book nook kits alone, and this one in particular, demands your time, patience, and care. Otherwise, you really shouldn't try to do them. Unless, of course, you don't mind throwing away your hard-earned money. If that is the case, have at it!! Overall, if you are looking for something truly amazing to work on and to look at afterward, I Strongly and Highly recommend this kit! Very detailed model. It’s well built and organized. Everything you need is in the kit. You do need to be patient and take your time. A couple of points to note with instructions. Steps weren’t clear on parts to glue. It would just show glue bottle on that step. If the parts are a friction fit or no glue bottle on step then I didn’t use glue. Second item were the leds. Use the measurement listed in instruction and find led closest to that measurement to determine which led to use. For example, the first led called out is for under the globe. I mistakingly used shortest one and later had to pry up the assembly to put correct led by length in.

My son gave me my first book nook kit for Christmas, and I think he created a monster. I'm in love! I got the Law Library because of the quotes on the outside of the nook, and because of its complexity. I love the law. It was part of my life for nearly 30 years, and it's a beautiful thing when it's not abused but applied as it was intended. This was a challenging build, especially the spiral staircase, but the instructions are clear and easy to follow. Were it not for the quality of some of the pieces, like the green banker's lamp, I would have given this book nook 5 stars. The banker's lamp came with a spare part, which is good because the first shade broke off where the shade is scored. The tabs to insert it into the bracket that holds the shade in place are so tiny that they bend and become useless very quickly. The holes these tabs fit into are not holes, but very thin slivers. I almost gave up, but I wound up removing the tabs and glued the shade in place on the bracket. The chair legs are very, very fragile. I had to glue one back together. The other problematic piece was the ceiling lamp on the first floor. Several parts kept falling off when the light was set in place, and in fact, I lost a piece somewhere in a bookcase after the build was completed, making it impossible to retrieve. There are spare parts for this item as well, but there is no way to replace parts when the nook is already together because there is no room to maneuver. Everything is quite compact. It would be nice if items like the banker's lamp were just included already assembled or a small lamp included in place of the banker's lamp. It's too important of a piece to just give up on and leave out. Also, pay close attention to your parts list. I thought I had run out of books, but in actuality, there were more on other boards and they were numbered differently. All that being said, this was a joy to build. I would recommend it, and I would certainly buy it again, in spite of the portrait of RBG (Lol)! I think the finished product is beautiful.

Very fun build, not as complex as some but lots of nice details like the acrylic glass along all to staircases leading to the different levels. The book covers and other decals are nice and clear, wiring harness is good with no issues. The overall design is great, pieces do fit together nicely. Acrylic dust cover is a nice added bonus.
