The Nicpro Miniature Paint Brushes Drybrush - 21PCS Model Paint Brush Set for Acrylic paints did not disappoint, and as it should not, for this brand is in the top 10 for go-to brushes when you aren’t in the market for “Upper Tier” brushes such as Windsor Newton or Da Vinci. I put the No. 4, No 2, and the No. 11 dry brush under the test and it did not disappoint. The points remained through out two of the miniatures, they held good paint in their bristles and performed as needed. These were also left submerged in water and used again with the same results. It is to note that you shouldn’t do such a thing for fine brushes for this work but contrary to the opinion, these are far more resilient than many give them credit. Points held together as a brush of this tier should, in many ways, these will last several projects before you discard them — hence the generous set, many you may never need for this type of painting, is a pretty nice deal for the quality you get vs generic ones that are vastly sold on the internet and in hobby stores. The dry brush was very nice! The handle has some weight to it and the application to texture felt seamless. I found that the bristles held well and did not shed like some lesser dry brushes, so this was a pretty nice experience using them. I used these with regular game acrylic paints, metallic paints, washes, metallic speed paints, regular speed paints with multiple rinses and re-applications. These all passed with strong performance. I recommend Nic Pro for your warhorse work, these are the type of brushes you need to power through your 40K and other table top armies. They are also good for your display pieces too — but generally the synthetic brushes are for the punishment done to uniformed units. Nice performance! Use these as your top 5 for your war gaming paint projects!

Featured is NICPRO's 21 piece Miniature Paint Brushes & Dry Brushes made available by Amazon & Vine for review. My wife is an acrylic artist and uses Nicpro brushes for her fine detail work. Since her current set is getting a little worn I was glad to see these offered here so I placed an order. The 21 piece set arrived safe in their tube container. The individual packaging of each detail brush along with the clear plastic tube protecting the tip shows the care Nicro gives their product. Even the dry brushes were group packaged so they arrived in a great condition. The tube container will have a second life storing the brushes on her desktop. The velvet storage bag was a very nice touch, but unfortunately will be put to other non-painting uses. The water soluble glue applied during the manufacture of the detail brushes was great idea. The brushes held their shape during shipping and was easily rinsed out. After rinsing, the brushes kept their shape. During use these brushes are easy on the hand with their ergonomic handle which is a feature my wife likes. The fine liners and broader tip brushes hold the paint and paint very well. For blending, the dry brushes worked perfect. With all the brushes the bristles stayed smooth and aligned after rinsing out. So far she has yet to experience any loss of bristles. This set offers a nice assortment of brush sizes her acrylic painting needs. Overall this is a quality made set of brushes that are well suited for the beginner or the professional. At it's current pricing it is a very affordable addition to your art supplies.
