  • Convenient small greenhouse puzzle
Style: 55.9 x 28.3 x 75.59 in
Once assembled, the greenhouse holds together well. The covering fit very well on the frame and the zipper works without binding. I was most impressed with the covering as it is all one piece that slides over the frame and uses fabric strips to secure to corners of the structure by tieing. There are no holes or vents in the cover. I'd recommend a rubber mallet or other method to ensure the pieces of the frame are pushed all the way together, otherwise it will fall apart. I pushed pieces together between the ground and my hands to utilize body weight; effective, but you run the risk of bending or breaking pieces. The metal tubes, by themselves, are thin and can be damaged, the strength comes from the structure as a whole, not the individual pieces. Be prepared for a flat pack puzzle with essentially no instructions. There is a diagram to assist you, but it's very difficult to tell which joints/connecting pieces go where. The different lengths of metal tube are packed separately from each other and labeled, but connections are not. Correct joint placement can be inferred from the online pictures and included diagram. The farther into the build you get, the easier it becomes. My build time was under an hour; I built the two sides that are the shelves first, connected them with the "roof" pieces, then pulled the plastic shell over it. The shelves do not have any center support and the metal that is used is bendable by hand. I bent the shelves to wrap around the frame, but wouldn't trust them with heavy pots. Could use zip ties or other fasteners around the edge for additional securement. I am using this on a 3rd floor balcony and it has held up to the gusts of wind blowing between apartment buildings. Outside temp warmed up to around 70-73 and temps in the greenhouse (direct sun) reached the low 90s during the peak afternoon. Complications aside, the price is great for the final product. ... show more

  • Sturdy and Stable
Style: 55.9 x 28.3 x 75.59 in
While I'm pretty good at putting stuff together (sometimes even without instructions), the one page instructions had me perplexed. It should have only taken me about 45 minutes or so to erect this greenhouse, but instead it was more like a couple of hours. Perhaps I'm a bit remedial (lol). The "joints" are marked and the instructions are clear as to how many of everything you should have. Some of the pieces look very much alike so you have to pay close attention. I ended up using the wrong section for the corners and once I re-examined the diagram, I was able to ascertain my error. Ugh. I had to take a few sections apart because of this error. It's a bit tricky but once I had the base and the frame partially up, everything else was smooth sailing. I did it alone but it may behoove you to have a second set of hands. You want to make sure you put the greenhouse on a flat surface, preferably in grass or dirt because there are stakes and rope available to assist with stabilization. The shelves, which are wire, will not sit properly if you don't have everything pushed into the pegs far enough. You may need a small mallet to do so. The polyurethane covering is a bit thick but BE CAREFUL. When you're zipping and unzipping the housing, make sure there's not a lot of tension. You don't want to tear the plastic away from the zipper and it's easy to do so. As you can see in the photos so far I've housed about 5 25 gallon grow bags with room to spare. It has been erected for 5 days now and the only direct sunlight that it receives is about 6 hours from around 10:30 AM to sundown. That joker gets HEATED. I could feel the water being drawn from the soil and my plants (potatoes, tomatoes, watermelon, parsley, cilantro, carrots, sweet basil, beets, celery, kale, squash rainbow chard, oregano, garlic and dil) are thriving. My squash is being revitalized. Anyway, I hope this helped. This was a great decision and buy for me because although I have a huge yard, I live in NY and I didn't want to have to go through testing the soil and being limited because of planting late in the season (cold weather). ... show more

  • Worked great for a year. Plastic roof falling apart after that.
Style: 55.9 x 28.3 x 75.59 in
This worked well on my deck for the first year, allowing us to grow some tasty veggies and spicy peppers despite the ever-hungry wildlife. I put it away that winter and when I set it up I this past Spring, I noticed some of the roof plastic was disintegrating. Now it’s almost entirely gone on the top so heat escapes easily and rain pours in. I’ve patched it with clear plastic bags (reduce, *reuse*, recycle, right?) for the time being since growing season is almost over here in the North East. One of the structural plastic T’s broke recently, but it was easy to fix with some plastic bonder (check my other reviews for detail - the stuff is awesome) and it’s probably the strongest piece of the frame now. The metal has a little rust, but actually less than I would expect considering how humid it gets inside during the summer. Before I set it to next year, I’ll hit those spots with some rust sealant. All told, the frame is still solid and the plastic on the sides is intact so I’ll probably repair the top with thicker clear plastic next Spring and keep using it. Initially this was going to be a 3-star review but thinking about the price and how much we’ve enjoyed it, I’m giving it 4. That said, I’d rather the shell be sturdier so I’m not dumping so much plastic into the environment. One day maybe I’ll be able to afford a real, glass greenhouse. Until then, this little guy will do fine. ... show more
