  • Compact and capable little machine that needs a true off switch
Color: Pink
This little sewing machine is cute and surprisingly capable for its mini size and similarly mini price ($35 at time of review). It has most of the basic functions of a standard sewing machine, minus the digital bells and whistles that we are used to seeing on modern machines. The machine is supplied as a comprehensive kit with a couple of pre-wound bobbins (a nice detail) and thread that fits nicely in the recessed spool holder at the top rear of the machine. Threading and bobbin winding are fairly standard. The stitch selection is basic but adequate for most typical projects. The 12 stitch patterns are really variants of what other machines would call the same stitches with different lengths or widths. For example, the stitch selector offers 4 different straight stitches of various lengths and 4 different zigzag stitches of various lengths and widths. On a standard machine you would select the stitch type (straight or zigzag) and then specify length/width. There are other options for blind hemming, buttonholes, and zippers. The straight stitches are actually overlapping very slight diagonals, like an embroidery stitch (see photo), rather than a plain running pattern, but that's no big deal for my projects. A reverse button is good for starting and ending seams. The tension adjustment is manual, which is not terribly beginner-friendly but is to be expected at this price point. One small thing I really missed compared to my regular Singer machine was a needle position button--on this machine the needle stops wherever it happens to be when you stop sewing, and you can't specify that you want it to finish in the up or down position. The machine has two speeds selectable by a switch for hand operation, or you can use the foot pedal, which requires (misleadingly) that the switch be in the "off" position. Besides confusing labeling, the problem is that this means there is no true off switch; you must physically unplug the machine to turn it completely off. I see this as a safety issue, especially on a machine targeted at young beginners. If I put a switch in the off position, I expect a machine to be off. I do not expect it to start running if a kid or pet steps on the pedal inadvertently. ... show more

  • Good for leavers /first timers
Color: Pink
I just got my hands on the Sunexinlo Mini Sewing Machine (pink) and I’m thrilled to share my experience. This little machine is perfect for beginners like me who want to dabble in sewing without breaking the bank. The compact design is sleek—white body with a cute pink accent—and it feels sturdy in my hands. The machine comes with 12 stitch patterns, which is more than enough for simple projects like hemming pants or making tote bags. I love the two‑speed button control; it lets me switch between slow and fast stitching depending on the fabric. The foot pedal is easy to use, and the built‑in LED light illuminates the work area nicely, so I can see every detail even in dim lighting. Setup was a breeze. The instructions are clear, and I had the machine threaded and ready to sew within minutes. It handles lightweight fabrics like cotton and fleece smoothly, and the stitch quality is consistent. The machine is marketed as suitable for kids and adults, and I think it’s great for introducing my daughter or niece to sewing basics—it's safe and simple to operate. The only downside is that it’s designed for smaller projects; heavy‑duty fabrics or thick layers can be a challenge. Also, there are only 10 pink units left in stock, so if you’re eyeing this color, you’d better grab one soon. Overall, I’d give it 5 stars for its ease of use, affordability ($35.99), and stylish look. It’s a fantastic starter machine for anyone wanting to pick up sewing skills or teach kids the craft. ... show more

  • This will keep you in stitches!
Color: Pink
The media could not be loaded. I am impressed with it's size and function. The opening is large enough to stuff a fair amount of cloth through it. The free arm is a little on the fat side for sleeves but OK. It has no problem sewing 4 layers of denim so 5 should be fair limit as stated. I like the side located "two speed" hand control switch and that the "reverse control" is close enough to operate them with just my right hand. The spare parts are a real help. The pressure foot end is universal with a quick release attachment that accepts standard Singer style feet. The needle piercing position is closer to the back end of standard Singer shoes. FYI, you may have to file or relieve the rear most opening of other brand shoes for needle clearance. This is not a deal breaker. Straight stitch length is select-able from 12 out to 8 stitches per inch. A broader jump stitch to 6 per inch would be nice but it is not capable. Thread tension dial works as intended. Other stitch shapes work as intended and it never missed a stitch. I did not try the button hole because I have no need. Work around and caution: In the video; 1. A thread cutting glitch. The colored body section of the machine carries a concealed blade. When you drag thread across, it should allow thread to drop back over the hidden blade. That colored segment is too deep back from the other white surfaces and will not it to catch your thread unless you sneak it in from the side. The pink section should stick out a pinch more than the surrounding case surface. 2. The pressure foot will not pop up to the top of it's stroke when the needle is near the bottom of it's stroke. I like to leave the needle down all the way when changing stitch path direction with the foot up. You will need to plan accordingly. 3. Not in the video: The peddle is very light weight, small and hard to keep under foot. It could be improved if it was mounted on a board long enough to be held down by your heal while you apply toe pressure. 4. There is no service manual and I can't find a source for service from the supplier so this is a through away machine unless you are a mechanic. I would give it 3 1/2 stars but, because of its price "being low", it will get 4 stars here. ... show more
