  • 4 .5 is a better number.....BUT..read other reviews if you get it for smart tips!!!!
Nice compact piece of equipment for small jobs. I do resin work, and this WILL help me a lot. First of the chuck installion direction are useless...as are many of them!! PLEASE come back to this page and look at the examples and directions here. Took my a while to figure out the chuck...as did one of the other reviewers....you have to REALLY press the chuck part onto the adapter!! Not sure why it just doesn't attach on it's own...or have the ability to attach with a set screw. I may epoxy them together. You will know if it isn;t snug enough....it will fall off or just spin. I have not use the flex tool, but I have a bigger one and love it!! You don't have to worry about the "nipple" size being too big or small. This will hold any size, including a drill bit. It will be a nice addition to have it handy. ONE OF THE REVIEWERS (1st one) mentions tightening everything up....I am going to what they said before I use it again. I noticed some movement as I was playing with it...and will take it apart tonight. The saw....Didn't hook it up yet, and am glad I didn;t try it before tightening up. It WILL take your finger off. My plan is to NEVER have a blade in it if I am using the chuck or flex tool. Yes...everything spins at the same time. Not a good safety feature, and NEVER let your kids use it with a blade in...it is NOT a toy. PLEASE NOTE: The graduated power setting are located on the transformer box....slide switch on the side. I will try some cutting soon, but seems that it may has some value on smaller jobs....probably need the high speed for anything. I DID use the sanding disc....this is awesome and worth the price. This part will save me a ton of time on edges etc because I won't have to use a "too big for the job" hand held sander. Polishing discs should be very good as well. Fix the chuck right, and you have a great little standing sander.....wear gloves...big enough area to work well. I used lowest power and it took a lot of materiel off of a wood disc easily. I will use this feature all the time! Bottom line: Multiple accessories in one place GREAT. Danger factor with saw HIGH (just take it out). Flex tool will be game changer if you are used to a bulky handheld (lots of bits too). Directions SUCK. Sander EXCELLENT. Power control SO-SO at best. Versatility of the saw MULTIPLE GOODS....good push tool attach (in a groove, not free-standing) Diagonal cutting, and work space all good as well. I DO look forward to trying it out. TIGHTEN EVERYTHING THAT CAN BE TIGHTENED (Thank reviewer #1) BEWARE: there are A LOT of little set screws!! I even think they supply some extras....and use your own tools, the provided ones are a little lacking in oomph. Just be careful and smart (no blade) and get better directions somewhere....and you will get a lot of use from this. ... show more

  • Limited power
Nice mini table saw. Limited power due to belt drive. Good for small jobs. It did what I purchased it to do.

  • It's so cute!
First off, let's just recognize this was not made by Ryobi, Dewalt or Craftsman. If you're thinking of some surgically accurate machine to fabricate high tolerance parts for your space shuttle, for under $100, ...don't be silly. BUT, for $100 this little work station tries to do a lot! I would just say that if you're mechanically inclined enough to consider purchasing this thing then you can make it work within its limitations. Basically, it's just a small variable voltage/speed DC motor with extended rotor shaft on each end that you can attach a multitude of supplied attachments. Fixed into a little, steel box with simple provision to be raised or lowered, then add a rudimentary fence and miter, and that's about all this is. Dangerous? Yes, you can cut your finger off with this - or even two or three fingers if you're persistant. It doesn't come with safety glasses so you could poke out an eye, or without figuring a simple way to secure it to a work surface (I did) it could easily slide off and land on your toes. If your head is small enough to fit into the plastic bag you could even sufocate yourself. If you try. As another reviewer noted, and the instruction state, the attached saw blade will be rotating when you're using the rotary tool - a safety hazard. But the blade can be simply lowered out of the way into the housing when not needed, so I don't see any problem at all. Advantages? For small, intricate jobs this works pretty well if you make allowances. It's not perfect but tries to do it all, just to a lesser degree. It comes with lots of attachments for sanding, grinding, cutting, polishing, brushing, buffing, drilling, engraving, etc. It all arrives and packs up into a small cardboard box, so you could store this under your bed or in a drawer between projects. Just right for model building, simple home repair or dollhouses, crafts and home dentistry, ...use your imagination. I'm going to try building a porch extension just as soon as I collect enough popsicle sticks. If you already know power tools you'll find use for this. If you're a beginner this could be a good, cheap introduction to practice on before you REALLY start spending your money on better power tools. For what it is and only a hundred bucks I think it does a lot and is a pretty good deal. ... show more

  • Tiny but packed with everything needed for the hobbiest
This is small but perfect for those little jobs or tiny parts. I've always wanted a tool for working small hobby parts and this works great. It comes with tons of sanding, cutting and grinding pads, mini blades and drills of every shape and small size. It's well built, solid and makes nice clean and square cuts with the table saw. It also comes with a push miter gage to make precise angle cuts. The added drill chuck and flexible dremel are a welcome and useful addition. These two attached tools really make this mini table saw a total package. EDIT: After using this tool a few times I need to take away one star. I have serious concerns about unskilled people using this saw. There are a few things that may make this unsafe to use if you are not careful. One problem is that the motor is not solidly mounted. When pressure is applied it will move a little. This may cause binding. Another is that the rip fence is a bit hard to align and if positioned wrong you could get kickback. There are other minor things but if you follow proper safety and set up procedures you will be OK. This is not a heavy-duty tool and should only be used on light hobby projects. One more thing; There are no good instructions on how to set up and use this tool. You need to use your skilled knowledge and experience to safely set up and use this tool. ... show more
