I am a beginning photographer and intermediate video creator and I was looking for an inexpensive home studio setup. I researched several different packages of lighting, backdrops and stands. The LimoStudio kit was very competitively priced, the right size, had an adequate number of lights, light boxes with removable diffusers and it came with multiple muslin backdrops, including the green screen I really wanted. I read many of the reviews on Amazon prior to ordering and was cautiously optimistic. When the equipment arrived I was very impressed by the value and quality. I'll admit to being quite puzzled by the negative reviews. All of the stands and lights were well made, worked flawlessly, were easy to assemble and disassemble, and fit nicely in the good quality padded nylon carry cases. The backdrops are medium to heavy weight muslin and as long as you do not expect them to block full daylight in front of a picture window or remain wrinkle free after being jammed in a carry case for days (who would?) they function perfectly. As to the backdrop stand, when it is set up fully extended 8'8" high by 10 feet wide there is some flex, as one would expect from a portable stand, but I was able to use my 9x12 foot heavy duty painted canvas backdrop which weighs over 8 pounds without any sagging once it was clipped on. I didn't use the muslin clips provided with the LimoStudio kit because I already had a set of 4.5" inch heavy duty Muslin clamps that I prefer to use. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this setup for windy outdoor shoots or if you are a professional road warrior who will need to put it up and take it down multiple times a day, 365 days a year. I needed a starter kit to see how some basic lighting equipment would enhance my hobby photography and this thing is perfect. The individual items are clearly not the highest quality, but they are more than adequate for normal use. I get the feeling they wouldn't stand up to years on the road, they don't have a pro feel, but if you're not going to abuse them there is no reason to think they will break. I am referring to the stands, they seem just strong enough to handle the weight they are intended for and function well for that. The green screen with included black and white muslin and stand is quite a bit larger than I anticipated, when I opened the box and set it up in my game room it all seemed pretty huge. I am definitely happy with this kit. Everything folds up nicely into a carrying case for transport/storage. Don't throw the light bulb boxes away (YES - unlike most lamps you buy this comes with light bulbs!) you will need to boxes to safely store or transport the light bulbs. You may also find the low consumption bulbs it comes with are not super bright and may want to try some regular bulbs, just be careful not to exceed the recommended wattage as the extra heat may be a fire hazard or at least damage or deform the reflective hoods. You will also want some extension cords, as the lamp cords (with have handy built in switches) are pretty short and most likely won't be able to reach an outlet, especially not with the stands fully extended. ... show more

Mind you, this is not a truly professional video studio, but for the cost it is an awesome start kit. Shipping box was opened on top and taped as if done on purpose when delivered, I was worried that it might have been missing some pieces, but after inventory everything was in there. Instructions would be nice, but I was able to set it up. Clips weak, but will work. One of my four light bulbs that came with it did not work. It does not look damaged, it just doesn't turn on. Back drop needs to be ironed or steamed well. The wrinkles are bad. ... show more

Everything came as described - nothing was broken or missing. The bulbs are not the brightest, but they are certainly adequate for a basic lighting kit. For example, I was easily able to achieve an infinite white background with the softboxes aimed at a white wall and umbrellas aimed at the subject/talent. And in any event additional stronger bulbs can be gotten easily to suit the particular video/photo uses. Very easy to put together - except the instructions on placing the backdrop ring clamps on the side stands could be more clear. You will need to remove the plastic section brackets on the sidestands to place the clamps onto the lower sections of the sidestands. But that is easy enough to do - you just need a philips head screwdriver to loosen the brackets and slip them off the ends of the sidestands, slip the clamps onto the sidestand sections, then slip the section brackets back on. The muslin dimensions are not the widest but they are as described, so not marking down for that. By clamping them onto the backdrop stand horizontally, they are long enough and suitable for my purposes. Save everything! The bulb and stand boxes and plastic wraps make transporting the kit in the carry bag easy! ... show more

My wife does YouTube videos so I surprised her with this studio for Christmas.I researched EVERY studio Amazon had to offer, read most of the reviews and settled on this one. I truly made an excellent choice. It was everything she expected and more. One of the umbrellas came damaged, I contacted the company and they sent a replacement immediately. NO fuss, NO drama!!!! Amazing customer service. Easy to set up, Poles and stands are sturdy. The lights are very bright. Easy to carry travel case. I received it within 5-7 days, which is good since I'm stationed in Germany. It's truly AMAZING. We will ONLY purchase LimoStudio Products and accessories from NOW ON! Amazing studio, especially for the price. As soon as it arrived, they emailed me to find out if I was satisfied with the product. Since I received it in the middle of Dec. I told them that I had not opened it yet and that my wife would open on Christmas, since it was a gift for her. She unwrapped it on the 25th but we didn't set it up until some time in early Jan.
