This hamper is perfect for my 8yr old son, it can withstand a rough close on the lid and when knocked over it does not bend or crack. The sides and lid are a sturdy plastic and the holes provide enough ventilation to keep the basket from smelling like boy. We had a nice, big nylon mesh over metal/wire frame hamper that was great until we got new kittens. The nylon mesh became a scratching post (not a huge deal since it held up well). The problem is that, once they got to a certain weight, the top flap/cover would collapse into the hamper when they decided to make it a perch. After enough of this, the wire keeping the top in shape snapped and out it went. We got this one because it is sturdy and rigid enough to withstand being used as a perch for a 10 lb. adolescent cat. So far so good. An added bonus is that they no longer use it as a scratching post -- ahhhh, silence! In a nutshell, this is a well-made, relatively compact, high capacity hamper that looks great in our bedroom. Highly recommended. ... show more

This is a great hamper and very well made! It's not too big and not too small. Price is great! Color is very attractive. It says blue but leans more teal which was exactly what we wanted. They were shipped without the lids so we reached out to the manufacturer. They were very responsive and I would give them high marks for customer service.
