These newer 12V tools are pretty nice. When you don't need a full 18V or higher, they tend to be lighter and smaller which is great for avoiding fatigue. However, Milwaukee seems to love selling tiny batteries for their 12V line. I have the 12V pruning chainsaw, which came with a 4AH battery. I needed a backup for when the first battery is drained but I still have work to do. I looked for the biggest 12V battery I could, and this appears to be it. I was a little nervous buying this, due to the risk of buying a counterfeit battery that does not deliver the power of a legit battery. The battery case is actually the same size as the 4AH battery and has identical markings other than the AH rating, but this one weighs more and lasts around 50% longer. While I have not opened it up to compare cells and circuitry, this one seems to work well and delivers just as much power as my 4AH battery, just for longer. If you are invested in Milwaukee's 12V tool line and need a battery with longevity, this is the one for you. My only gripe is the same one I have for all Milwaukee and DeWalt batteries: the cost. For those who may be wondering (I know I was), this battery is the real deal... GENUINE MILWAUKEE & THE DATES ARE FRESH. Ordered in March 2021... battery dates were Dec 2020. Not bad at all. Probably newer than off the shelf at Home Depot. Newer batteries will perform better & more time on the warranty after they arrive. Good deal all around! ... show more

This battery was worth the $. It last about 4-6 hours of consistent grinding with my right angle die grinder. The recharge takes about 2-3 hours from dead so not bad

Very disappointed to find out after the fact that if you purchase this battery via Amazon or eBay, Milwaukee WILL NOT cover it under warranty. At least, they didn't in my situation after using it once before noticing that one of the metal contacts on the battery was not making contact with the prongs on the Milwaukee tool itself. This is what was causing the tool to run momentarily and then immediately die. Buyer beware. And hopefully, Amazon will actually post this on their reviews.
