I decided to try some of the "professional" stuff instead of just the usual, cheap teflon tape. It's a bit more expensive than the cheap stuff, but not much more when you account for the extra length, width and thickness. It really does require fewer wraps to get a good seal than the cheap stuff. And the 3/4" width is more natural than the 1/2" for joints. I also like that it doesn't turn into strings like the white stuff does. It really annoys me when teflon tape does that and this seems to be less prone to it. I'm a definitely an amateur at plumbing, but I think I will continue to buy this tape (although with 3 rolls it will be a long time before I need more) instead of the cheap stuff. It's less hassle and I feel like it is better quality (I never really know whether the cheap, white stuff is good or bad or in between) and nearly the same price.

I’ve been using the old style white Teflon tape, but I saw this tape and bought it because it is wider and also a little bit thicker. I had quite a number of fittings to connect so I gave this tape a try. It worked good. I don’t think it was any easier than the other tape, but it was faster, it covered more area and being a little thicker, I didn’t need as much tape. G Sobieski

In our area, we use this for gas, water and even DWV which is acceptable by our local code. This tape is thicker than your standard home cheapo tape and seals like a champ if you know what you are doing. This tape is not TO thick however like some other manufacturers are spitting out. As long as it is installed correctly, this product leaves you with the feeling that the job was completed correctly. Highly recommend

This tape is a serious cut above regular Teflon tape. The 3/4" width is much easier to use, and the tape is definitely thicker than the standard stuff you buy. These characteristics make it easier to apply to pipe threads, and to take it off after removing something such as a shower head. I will definitely buy this product again.

We use these for everything including attaching hemlock, hammer lock, and Toto tittings to piping for transferring oil, fuel, dry cement mix, water and oil basex synthetic muds. This forms an incredible seal against any leaks. Very tough and doesnt twist easily so there is no need to throw away wasted tape.
