  • Well made
Great product

  • Good set of thin wall lug nut sockets
I got this 1/2" drive lug nut socket set and it’s worked well for removing and installing wheels. The 15, 17, 19, 21, and 22mm sizes cover most common lug nuts I come across, and the thin wall design is helpful when dealing with tight spaces or alloy wheels. The non-marring coating does a nice job protecting expensive wheels from scratches. They feel solid and have held up through several tire changes without rounding off or slipping. The storage case keeps them organized in my toolbox. Overall a practical and affordable impact socket set that gets the job done reliably. ... show more

  • Handy set for toolbox
These sockets are handy to have in the toolbox for tire removal. The color coding makes it easy to quickly find the size needed for your vehicle's lug nuts. I've used these twice so far. The first was on a 2016 Ford Escape with wheel covers. The 19mm socket would NOT fit into the wheel, so I had to grab a regular 19mm socket from my tool box. Kind of disappointed there, but chalking it up to the wheel cover...probably would fit no problem with the wheel cover pulled off. The second vehicle i used the 22mm and it fit into the oem wheel (no wheel cover) without issue. Used it on a 1/2" pneumatic impact wrench without any problems, telling me that the durability and quality were sufficient for the job. Happy with this addition to my toolbox, and would recommend to anyone looking for an organized socket set for lug nuts. ... show more

  • Truck/SUV owners don't waste your $$
Not for use on heavy duty lugs nuts. Despite the product page showing large semi-trucks and listing use for trucks and SUVs, this broke on the first use. It's way to thin, don't waste your money if you have a truck or anything that torques over 100ft-lbs. I tried contacting the seller to see if they would at least replace the one I broke (not that I'd ever use it on a truck again, but no way of getting a hold of them from Amazon. A pretty big waste. ... show more

  • A great set of inexpensive but heavy duty lug nut sockets with protective sleeves
A really nice, heavy duty set of 1/2" Metric sockets with a non marring cover for avoiding damage to your painted, powder-coated, or high-end alloy rims. Standard steel sockets can easily chip or scratch the finish inside the lug hole. This impact socket has a thin wall and a plastic sleeve acts as a buffer. It is listed as being made from Chrome Molybdenum (Cr-Mo) steel. Unlike standard Chrome Vanadium (Cr-V) that used for most hand tools, Cr-Mo is more ductile, meaning it can handle the "hammering" of an impact wrench without shattering. The color coding and laser engraving make this socket easy to find. Because it has a protective sleeve, the outer diameter is slightly larger than a plain thin-wall socket. In extremely tight aftermarket wheels, you might have to pop the plastic sleeve off to make it fit. It worked just fine on my Nissan truck. The plastic sleeves can wear out over time especially if you are using it on wheels with limited space around the lug nuts. You can always remove the plastic sleeve but you will probably have to cut if off as the one on the socket I tried is on there very tightly. The finish is a manganese phosphate coating for excellent strength, wear, and corrosion resistance according to the description. Other sockets like this that I have bought have a finish that looks like the anodizing that they put on aluminum products but it is listed as being a Electrophoretic Coating. Unfortunately one of the painted ones that I bought from another brand cracked when trying to remove a lug nut that was tightened to 85 foot pounds. Overall these sockets appear to be very well made and it includes a cross drilled opening which can be used to hold a retaining pin so it was stay on an impact gun. I don't have any tools with a hole in the anvil but it is apparently common in industrial settings. All of my impact guns have a hog ring for retaining the socket but if you have a detent retaining ball then it would fit into the hole. I was really surprised by the weight of the sockets with the 22 mm socket weighing 9.35 ounces or 264 grams. Comparing it to the one I had that broke from another brand these are much heavier and should be very durable. They did come with a light coating of oil so you may have to wipe them down but otherwise I really like these and they were a great value considering the quality. My set came with 15,17,19,21,and 22mm sockets but they also sell a mixed set with 13/16" and 7/8" in case you need those. I would just check how much clearance you have because these might not work on some recessed lug nuts in a tight setting. ... show more

  • Nice set
These are a good set for wheels, and they seem to be good quality. I took the wheels off my 3500 with them, that's a pretty good test. They do come covered in oil, but that's way better than rust, so I just left it. They fit all the wheels I had to test them on, so the sizes are good. My impact didn't break any either. They may seem a little expensive but it's nothing compared to having to get a wheel painted or polished out. I like em! ... show more

  • Good addition to your tool box
These colored lug nuts are good addition to my tool box. I am always hunting down the right socket for lug nuts as my kids are always taking my tools and saying that they don't have them. Well now I can clearly say that they are mine. The 5 different sizes means that I have I'm sure to have one that will fit the different cars my family has. I have to test the size on one more car once my son comes home from out of state but so far they are a perfect size for the 3 cars that I have tried them on so far. I find them easy to use with both of my impact guns. The thickness is nice and I do not have to worry about them snapping when I am trying to remove the lug nuts. They come in their own case so you find the case you find the socket that you need. The case is very durable, I have already dropped them 3 time and the case held up. At the time of this review in my personal opinion this 5 piece lug set is a great value for your money. ... show more

  • Decent standard to thicker wall sockets.
These are a good set of impact sockets. I do like having the plastic coating to protect the wheels. I don't like how they are listed as thin wall sockets because while they might be the plastic sleeve negates all of that. I've used these on a 1 ton truck and a 3 row suv and they held up well. I think they're a nice addition to my tools and will be used specifically for lug nuts. Mine did come with a bit of oil and rust on them. So hopefully yours don't come that way. It doesn't change the function of them at all but it also doesn't make it feel like a very nice product. Overall they work and do what they need to. ... show more
