These Mikasa Optic highball glasses are very nice with the quality you've come to expect from Mikasa. They arrived perfectly packaged with no cracks, chips, or breaks. I did expect them to be heavier from the photos, especially with the ridges - but they're very thin and lightweight. I do love that they are dishwasher safe because as thin as they are I wouldn't feel comfortable hand washing them. ... show more

It's hard to find glassware that's modern, clean, elegant and also very sturdy. This glassware fits that description. The pattern is simple and beautiful but it feels nice in the hand and looks even better. The glass is thick enough that I'm not worried about it breaking over the slightest tap. They are not inexpensive, but I think they're worth the cost. I have the set of 4 but I'm considering buying another set just to ensure I have enough matching glasses for a dinner party. When I first opened the box and held these, I was initially disappointed. They feel very fragile and thin and I initially thought they were poor quality. I was wrong, while these are really thin in construction, they are actually really durable and shatter proof. I managed to prove this, unfortunately, by promptly dropping one on my linoleum floor while peeling the stickers off. It bounced and landed in one piece. These are not poorly constructed or "cheap feeling" at all. They actually look really nice, the design of them looks very special and pleasant. I like that they are large enough to serve just about any drink in them, perfect for a big glass of milk with cookies.
