Why were people afraid of assembling this? Yes, it will may take 1.5 to 2 hours, but: 1. You will find the instructions organized and quite clear 2. A good quality screwdriver with reversible Phillips/Slotted shaft included 3. A cheap, but adequate wrench for tightening the casters 4. Undamaged parts superiorly packed and most are clearly labeled 5. At the end of assembly, a locking cabinet probably worth twice its cost I almost didn’t order this due to the fear reviews regarding assembly, but I am so grateful that I did. I thought that I would take a look at it and if it were too daunting, I would return it. Much, much to my surprise, assembly was 98% straight forward. Here are the minor less than 100% trivial points: 1. The bottom and sides of the cabinet boxes are folding one-piece items. They don’t have letter identifiers on them, but are easily identified. The caveat is to pay attention to the tab slots that the end pieces will slide into. The folding piece must be folded so that the tab slots are on the inside of the drawer box as the end pieces tabs slide in from the inside. This is quality metal and can endure being folded the wrong way and then corrected back if needed. I did this on my first drawer. 2. The design is quite ingenious using folding tabs to help join a number of the pieces. While the tabs are metal, they bend easily enough that I could usually do so with my thumb. If some were a little difficult or my thumb got sore, I used either the screwdriver shaft or its handle to pressure the tabs into place. The tabs were a great engineering idea to reduce the number of screws and to strongly join pieces that could not accommodate screws. 3. I think a review complained that it was difficult to get the screwdriver aligned to put in some screws. I had no trouble with this. Yes, there is a little offset to deal with, but I used a longer screwdriver that made this easy, giving the handle more room to be twisted. I found all of the screw holes to be properly sized, contrary to a review that said they were all too small. They are intended to be small enough that the sheet metal screws will hold tight. These are sheet metal screws, not machine screws that are fine threaded. BTW, all screws were provided, along with a spare one for the support caster, and three extra of the general screws. 4. There are only two very minor errors in the instructions for the 3-drawer cabinet. Step 3 has a typo where it says “Put the rear wall into the cabin with the floded (sic) side …” Of course, it should read “folded side”. Still, I found this ambiguous. The concave side faces outward, i.e. the screw holes are on the outside. Then, Step 12 says to make sure that the “six little tabs” … There are actually seven tabs. FWIW, I chose to put the locking casters in the front, not the back. That is where I can get to them easier. If you are half-way handy, don’t be afraid! This is a top-notch cabinet that only requires minimal skill and some time to assemble. Note that it says to use 2 people, but I don’t know why. It was easy to do alone. Maybe, lay out the letter ID’d pieces in alphabetical order to make following the instructions easier and faster. Enjoy!

I was a bit worried about purchasing this after reading other reviews here, but I have to say I'm so glad I did. The low profile allows it to rest under our desk without sticking out and the drawers inside still have room. Letter size files hang just fine and do not need an inner frame. Legal size files should hang fine too, just the opposite direction (I haven't tried it though). Of course, it does not come with the hanging files itself. Assembly: My file cabinet came packaged really nicely with no damage. There was a bit of a bend to part of the inner frame on one side which worried me for one hot second, until I realized it was fine and that the cabinet would neither show it nor would it prevent it from being put together (in fact, the bend helped keep the bottom frame tightly attached to the side frame, so I suppose that was purposeful). Assembly was easy - I watched the video when I ordered it, but only used the booklet that came with it (side note, the package even came with a screwdriver!). Pay attention to the small print in there and do it step-by-step; if you can put together Lego or and piece of Ikea furniture, you'll be just fine. For folks in the reviews saying there were issues with the drawers, you have to go and really click the drawers into place (it says this in the last page of the directions, folks) even if you think you've already done that. You'll know they are in place because your drawers will close smoothly and they will be aligned. It took me about 25 minutes to fully unpack this and get it built and set up. Not bad, particularly for the price point. Bottom line: price is good, style looks clean, if you can follow directions and use a screwdriver, you'll be fine.

Well, I think the first thing that everybody should realize that unless you have a degree from MIT putting this thing together is a challenge at best. It took me over an hour and a half and I consider myself a pretty handy guy too the tooling on the actual cabinet itself was poor at best at the very end I wasn’t able to actually include the back of the drawers because it didn’t fit correctly when trying to return the item come to find out that it cost $68.50 in shipping to send it back so don’t buy this if you don’t wanna send it back because that doesn’t make sense so quite honestly I don’t normally write reviews but I’m gonna tell you out of most things I bought on Amazon. This thing is an absolute joke for almost $100. You have to spend two hours messing around with it to even put it together and then when it’s done, let’s face it. The quality isn’t there so go on Facebook marketplace find yourself one that’s already built and one that’s in much better condition and much better quality for 50 bucks and you’ll be much happier very disappointed which is unusual because everything I normally buy off Amazon is fabulous but this item stay away from

This filing cabinet is a bit smaller than I expected it to be. Your printer definitely won't be sitting at a reasonable height and you'll have to bend down to get to anything you print. The shelves/drawers are fine. The drawers slide smoothly, the lock works properly, and the thing rolls well enough, though once it's in place, I doubt I'll ever move it again. It's a cabinet, not a cart. It's rather cheaply made and just screws together. Honestly, it's not worth more than $80. Assembly wasn't terribly difficult, even using the cheap tools they include. The instructions are fine, just take your time when putting this thing together and don't rush it. It's not a great product by any means, but it is an adequate one. Pick it up on sale, or spend a bit more on something better though, you'll be disappointed in it if you pay full price.

I researched a bunch of different 2 drawer filing cabinets to replace the old one I inherited from my Grandfather. The old one had no slider mechanism (metal rail on metal rail) and constantly bound up and bent and drove me wild. This one from MIIIKO is fabulous. It came well packaged and protected - though one drawer had some bent metal that I had to straighten fairly easily but otherwise unblemished. Instructions were good and extra screws provided in case I lost some. I was SO pleased to find a nylon roller mechanism with ball bearings that make the drawers sliding in and out so reliable - just as described. This serves to not distort the overall unit and will surely keep it looking great and working well for many years. I also like the fact that I can't open both drawers at the same time and the bottom drawer has a wheel to keep things balanced. Was a bit concerned since I was to place it in a carpeted office - however the small stability wheel works just fine on the carpet and zero problems. Really a fine unit and highly recommended. I rarely write reviews but the sheer satisfaction I got from it being built just how it was advertised gave me the motivation to let others know.
