This fuel pump got installed into my 1958 Chevy Shortbed Fleetside work truck. It has the original 283 SB with a 2 BBL carb. My old electric fuel pump finally gave up the ghost after 8 years. For 11 bucks, I decided to give it a shot. The install was very straightforward and easy. I am very surprised how quiet this unit works. I used to hear my old pump all the time while driving. The only time I hear this unit is when I turn on the ignition. For now, I will give this 5 stars. So far, it works like it is supposed to. If I'm left stranded on the road in the next couple of months because this unit fails, I'll re-edit this review. ... show more

The pump seems to be fine, but 2 days after I installed the system, the filter split open while I was on the highway. It sprayed gas all over everything under the hood, luckily it didn’t catch on fire!!!! Buy a good filter
