My 9 year old Chorkie had an accident in her bed last night and I just removed the cover to wash. It does have a protective cover, however it is not completely waterproof. The urine and smell is soaked into the egg crate and now I am trying to figure out how to clean it without destroying her bed. Other than that, this is a nice bed. It’s fluffy and soft and my little dog loves it. **Editing to add - I did end up taking the egg crate outdoors & spraying Nature's Miracle Enzyme cleaner on the egg crate and letting it set for 15 minutes. Once the timer went off, I hosed off the cleanser and let the egg crate dry in the sun for a full day. It took the smell completely out of the crate. I washed the cover in the washing machine and tumble dried it on low in the dryer with no issues. I will be putting a dog pee pad in between the cover & egg crate just in case she has another accident so I don't have to go through all of this again. And for this reason in the edited portion - I changed my review from 3 stars to 5!

This is fine if it's not your dogs primary bed. It squishes down with little cushion with weight. The cover is very soft and easy to remove and clean. It's been washed once already and held up well.

I have a pit that has destroyed many filled Beds and anything stuffed really. He has not torn this one to shreds so this is a huge win at this point. Had it over 4 months. Only bad part is it does have these fuzzies that pill off the cover. If your dog does a few circles and pokes and prods before finally laying down you may see what I mean. However, I’m willing to deal with some fuzz over another destroyed dog bed and money wasted. Im considering making a cover for it to enclose the fuzz but haven’t yet.
