The tablet showed up in better condition than I expected. I think the battery is a little more worn out than the minimum 80% advertised but that could also be the way I am using it and software that’s running. Keyboard dirty, keys with paint rubbed off completely, volume keys don’t work at all, battery bleeds life by the minute and only sustainable if constantly plugged in, overheats just from starting, slow reaction times, someone’s finger grease and dirt was still on it, this is just what I’ve noticed in the process of setting it up. Usually refurbished means at least SOMETHING got fixed before it’s sent to the next person. Definitely take pics or videos as you’re opening it just in case you have to make a return on the off chance they try to blame you for whatever you receive. The renewed surface pro 8 was in great condition. The tiny chips in the glass were not apparent until cleaning for a screen protector, but once the screen protector went on the chips disappeared. Unit was better than anticipated. Will probably last me for many many years to come. Battery life is great.
