My laptop was experiencing major hardware issues within a year of owning it. After hours on the phone with microsoft they were willing to replace it. They sent me a refurbished computer that came with major hardware issues. After spending another 5+ hours on the phone with customer service they agreed to replace the computer. I was told that I would be receiving a brand new computer. The next computer arrived and it was AGAIN a refurbished model with a defective screen. I have spent over 25 hours on the phone with customer service and gone through various teams to try to get this resolved but have not been able to. For $2k I have now received THREE broken computers. This has been a major headache with no solution. DO NOT BUY this computer. ... show more

    • Great laptop. 1 remaining issue still unsolved. Don't buy from a 3rd party.
Pros: screen brightness, reliable, slim, lightweight, sleek, Mac alternative, didn't come with a large amount of bloatware. Cons: - It does get pretty hot and the fans come on pretty liberally. I had to hack the processor state to 99%, which seems to help. I say hack because it's definitely a bit beyond the normal setting changes and not 100% advised by the community. - I had to modify the dimming issue that people were complaining about. Even if you uncheck the 'change brightness automatically when lighting changes', it's not you! It will still dim unless you modify something called the "Vari-Bright" which isn't easy to figure out and change. I relied on other user's help. - I still have one remaining issue - the touchpad's erratic mouse cursor. Spent many hours trying to fix and used other user's possible solutions around the web. It's better but I will still get the occasional erratic movement. @Microsoft - please fix. Finally, do yourself a favor and don't buy from a 3rd party on here. Spend a bit more money and get an officially sealed, 100% brand new laptop from a reputable retailer or 1st party. Skimp on some items, not your laptop...just my two cents. ... show more

    • Restarting all the time
The laptop per se is sleeked, light-weighted. Love how it looks! However, it has got a severe problem - running into blue screen and requiring restart all the time. I have contacted Microsoft for tech support for twice yet neither of their staff actually had the problem solved. It is simply a headache for me now! ... show more

The computer is not working well, it re starts by itself all the time! I have reset it to the factory settings and updated the software and windows software to the latest versions, but the problem persists. I have run out of solutions. I have called Amazon service to get help but so far no one have given me a solution. I would like to return this computer to its seller.     • A Lemon Is Only Good for Making Lemonade
I had the laptop for only a week when the pixels on the screen started to deteriorate and separate. Tried a system reboot. No luck. Went to Geek Squad. No luck. Also noticed that in less than 90 minutes there, the battery had drained to half capacity. So much for a long life battery. Not sure if this is a lemon or sold as new when it is refurbished, but it is definitely going back. And from now on, I only buy books from Amazon. ... show more
