Phone mount was broke when taken out of box. After using it just a few times the focusing knob broke. This was a Christmas gift for my grand-daughter and very disappointing that it had to be returned.

I was hesitant on this, my son is 13 and he had a lab in school with microscopes and wanted one. I liked this one has the option to put the phone on and as you can see, it takes pretty good pictures (these slides were bought separately). It’s easy set up, awesome case, and a lot of accessories. Great educational value, great for the price, and really great for kids.

The magnification range is impressive: The stated 40x is perfect for simple slides and the 2000x really lets you dive into the tiny details if you take your time adjusting. I do like the the dual LED lights (top and bottom) , they help a lot when switching between transparent slides and solid objects. It feels pretty sturdy for the price, and the focus knobs are smooth enough to dial in without issue. I did have issue getting my phone to work with the microscope, where it wasn't sitting properly. I was able to get it aligned once, but only briefly. I'm not entirely sure what the issues is, so it could be my fault . Still, To me, It’s a good fit for a beginner, a kid, or even just for occasional home lab fun. It’s not a $1000 lab model, still for educational or casual use, i does exactly what i need. it also came with a bag and soft foam that it goes into for storage.

I can see everything very cleary.The only thing I was disappointed in is I read that a person that bought one could see a amoeba and I couldn't see any.Its great for a younger person around 10 or 12 but not for adults in my opinion.
