  • It's nearly perfect, but it's a solid buy
Color: AK-45
I bought this for the sturdy looking design, and modern appearance it provides. A mic stand is a mic stand, but some are more appealing than others. I think the design is kept minimal and stronger by the use of an Allen Wrench to tighten it. Sure, they could add plastic tabs (metal would be best) in order to twist by hand, but it may not be as strong. I don't mind the wrench settings, but I can see where people would rather have twist knobs. The only design flaw is the riser tube. It doesn't have a screw to keep it steady. It's not going to lift the arm out of it unless forced upward, but it would be nice to have it set, especially if you're using expensive mics on this. I don't use the riser. You could, theoretically, drill a small hole away in it and use a flat sided bolt to tighten the mic arm yourself. Either way, it works, but it's not necessary to use. I appreciate that it's an option that's included though. Sometimes you need that extra bit of space to work. I don't like the writing on the arm at all, it's tacky. I wish foreign brands would realize that their names are unprofessional, cheesy, and detract from products. i pass up so many buys because of the name stamped on the item, lol. This can be covered by the included velcro for the wires. You may be able to fully remove it with lacquer thinner (as I do with other branded items on Amazon) but I haven't tried it yet. It's a good purchase for a decent price. It looks good, it holds weight, and it works. I can recommend it, and I'd pick up another if needed. ... show more

  • Superb
Color: AK-45
Boom is very fabricated very clean. Holds quadcast mic with ease! Could see the extender bending, Easy to prevent if reinforced before failure. Also only slips in with no tightening mechanism, simple fix, drill hole and add bolt to tighten. Equipped mine with rgb as well. Going to replace boom arms nuts and bolts for longer bolts and wing nuts. ... show more

  • Good for the price
Color: Mic Arm
This is the 2nd time I bought this exact arm. My first one worked well for many years expect 1 issue. The small metal insert that slides into the desk mount got dented and slowly broke over time making the whole arm wobble and hard to move to the point where I just threw it out. Now that could be user error, me tightening the bolt too much and all. On my 2nd one now and I noticed something a little off. The screws (not all but some) are rusted. It's mostly surface rust no big deal but I just find it a little strange. Besides that the over all build and quality is solid so I can't complain for the price. If I had 1 recommendation, It would be to fill the metal insert with something to prevent any possible warping or denting. Maybe sealing the small line down the middle and adding a threaded bolt if that would be cheaper. Either way quality product I do recommend. ... show more

  • Perfect Fit for my Needs
Color: Mic Arm
Awesome product. It’s the perfect size for me as it’s not as big as other mic arms, so it’s easy to move away if you don’t need it. Sturdy product too.

  • Best bang for the buck mic stand
Color: Mic Arm
As cheap as it is i thought the springs would be low quality and have a tough time holding up a mic. But i took a leap of faith, and to my Surprise its the best mic stand ive had. Why spend close to a hundred on some other stand, just get this one.

  • Good quality. Strong and stable. Adjustable. Missing foam cover for mic
Color: AK-45
I looked at a lot of arm booms before choosing this one. What I found that most reviews for lesser quality booms were about the mount. This one is really solid and I have no doubts it can hold my mic. You can loosen and tighten the joints with an L wrench which is cool to ensure it keeps its position. The last thing I want to worry about when recording is my mic and it falling. I would have given 5 stars but I think this was a return? The box was a little beaten up and so were some of the bags. Or maybe it rubbed inside the box? Hard to tell but one thing is for sure, the Amazon explanation includes a foam cover for the mic that was not included in the box. I was really looking forward to getting one for my mic so it's disappointing. ... show more

  • Gets the job done at an inexpensive price point!
Color: Mic Arm
I really wasn't expecting much, so I can definitely say I'm not disappointed. That having been said, let's start with the good. First, all the important parts are metal, which is nice. I have seen others that have a plastic adapter piece to fit various size mics, but this one is made with brass, so it all fits nicely and feels sturdy. I have a Blu Snowball and this stand works great with it. Fit is good, and it has no trouble at all supporting the weight. The knobs to adjust tightness work "ok" and I don't get the impression they'll fail easily, but I'm skeptical of their long term reliability. Now for the not-so-great. It does feel slightly flimsy. It doesn't wobble terribly or anything, but I've definitely seen better workmanship. Still, for the price, one can't really complain. The biggest grievance I have with it is the non-adjustable hinges are _very_ tight. I can take the bottom set of springs off and there's no worry about slippage. Of course, this means that adjusting it can be challenging since you can't just easily push it away. It usually requires two hands for me to adjust it. A minor niggle, but if you're one of those people that can't stop adjusting your mic (you know who you are) you might want to look for something that adjusts a little more easily. My only other complaint (but really just a nit pick) is that I wish it were longer. I have a fairly deep desk (think Ikea) and I can't easily mount it to the back of the desk and bring it all the way across to me without it feeling super awkward. I fixed this by mounting it to the side of my desk. Plus, if I'm being fair, the range and range of motion is about par for the course for this type of design. Overall, I'd say it's a worthy investment if you're looking for a cheap mic stand. Even more so since you don't get the pop filter and other things that normally drive up the prices on these things. Still, if you want those things, then you have to look elsewhere. If you just want something simple that works, this should be great. ... show more
