  • A lot better than the other kind
So far it seems great. The "cheap" models just don't work right and are a pain to use. This one is designed more like an actual mini sewing machine with a fixed needle, and the presser foot controller, and also an internally placed bobbin. Like I said, so far so good, I'm glad I got it.

  • Love the idea
I really wanted to love this little sewing machine! But I can’t figure out how to wind a bobbin, and it only has one speed: fast. There is no foot pedal or surge control of any type. When you take it out of the box, it works very nicely! But once you try to change anything, like the thread for instance, it’s garbage! ... show more

  • First handheld sewing machine that I actually got results with
I've had about a half dozen handheld sewing machines in the past, including one from Singer and one that was completely manual powered and needed to be repeatedly squeezed like a stapler. All of them were horrible and I have concluded that it was mostly due to really poor construction and poor tolerances between the parts they used. Cheap design and manufacture meant the devices would perform poorly. This one is much better made and uses two spools of thread, much like a conventional sewing machine. It still has a few flimsy parts, but they seem to work better and the handful of times I have used it to repair some items like a pants pocket with a hole in the bottom, it's performed very well and has been satisfying to use. ... show more

  • You get what you pay for
It's a cute little machine that works on fine fabrics. Once I tried a knitted shirt with it, the needle jammed and almost ruined my shirt. It only has one speed, which makes it hard to control the fabric. Also, you can't get it to go backwards to secure the stitch. I returned it and ordered a regular machine. Lesson learned. ... show more

  • Don't buy this product
Defective product used once never worked . Even the seller never responded on my query.

  • Super price for a two thread lockstitch (with bottom bobbin) AWESOME sewing machine
I already own a fancy, electronic 205 stitch machine as well as a commercial heavy duty, sew leather, canvas, heavy denim type machine. But his little handheld is a GEM! I also owned a single thread, hand held sewing machine. That was a big mistake considering the price of this Sew Simple handheld sewing machine. You will have far less grief, not having to try to tie a knot as you end your stitches; as will be needed with any single thread, handheld sewing machine This a two thread, LOCKSTITCH (with a bottom bobbin). And, this come with a power supply to plug in, which is a very nice feature. But, you can use batteries if you want to. This has a very well engineered, removable battery pack! ( batteries are not included--but remember, the power supply is! ) I highly recommend this machine to anyone who wants a very portable, lightweight, fully functioning, two thread lockstitch machine. ... show more

  • Enough for its size.
Weak engine, but suitable to sew 2-3 layers of thin clothes or to add a fastener tape to a jacket/whatelse. Do its job being extreamly compact.

  • Only for light duty sewing
Don’t even think about trying to hem pants with this. Mine broke on first use when the inseam got stuck under the presser foot and even the hand wheel wouldnt budge the needle. There is a $25 handling fee for warranty returns, which is the cost of the whole product new… not worth the value at all
