I purchased this for my 7 year old daughter and she is obsessed with it. So far, she's enjoyed putting the designed papers into her journal in different ways but I'm hoping she'll get a feel for using some of the planner and journal prompts that are included as well. This set has glitter washi tape, gel pens, stickers, charms, cute paper clips, design papers, calendar inserts and more and I think it would be suitable for kids ages 6-12. There are some small parts, so you'll want to make sure the child is old enough not to put those in their mouths but for older kiddos, this is great and a fun way to let their imaginations run wild and encourage writing and expression.

Got this for my daughter who is seven and she loves it. Seems like it is perfect for just that age group as it isnt necessarily all that functional for someone older probably. It was listed as a journal but I would describe it as more of a scrapbook. The pages are not lined so it would act more like a drawing pad or something other then for writing your thoughts. The stickers and ribbons for decorating the pages have limited adhesive so they dont stick very well as well. I probably would look for something else if you are wanting an actual journal but for someone who is just wanting to make something their own and sort of just play around with it, this still seems cool. Just not as described :)

This journaling kit has everything a kid could want when starting out journaling. They didn't skip anything... except the lines in the book. This would have been absolutely perfect if it hadn't been for the unlined paper inside the journal. I understand that gives the child the freedom to do their journal as they please, but journaling (to me) seems to imply that the book would be lined.
