Description

With over 50 years of manufacturing experience, a commitment to OE form, fit and function, and unparalleled technical support, Edelmann is your best choice for power steering replacement hose and parts. Edelmann OE quality power steering hoses and components are crafted from long-lasting, high-performing materials that ensure durability under the harshest conditions on the road. That commitment to OE form, fit, and function ensures ease of installation, correct hose/tube routing and leak free performance. Hose construction withstands internal oil temperatures of up to 300 degrees Fahrenheit, ensuring component integrity in high-heat, high-stress operating environments. High- tensile strength braided fabric helps Edelmann pressure hoses withstand pulsation pressures up to 1,500 PSI and bursting pressures that exceed 6,000 PSI. Edelmann power steering pressure hose covers are highly resistant to oil, heat and ozone which cause ordinary assemblies to fail prematurely. Flared ferrule ends prevent pinching or cutting of the hose at tight bend locations. Metal tubing is coated with a Zinc-Aluminum Alloy, with an Aluminum-Rich Epoxy topcoat, and the couplings and fittings are zinc-plated for rust and corrosion protection. If required for the specific application, mounting brackets, heat shields and convolute tube sheathing (to protect hose) are included. When replacing a failed hose, whether from leaking, bursting, hardening/brittleness, or sponginess, choose the Edelmann hose for your application to ensure a durable replacement that will give you peace of mind as you travel down the road.

  • Perfect fit.
Purchased for a 2007 Honda Odyssey and it was a perfect fit. The cooling that goes into the rack and pinion is a 17mm nut versuses the stock 14mm. Don't panic, it still threads in just fine. Now here is the part I will be honest and frank. If you plan to do this work yourself, be prepared for a lot of frustration and time. If you think you are a bad person and want to self punish, this job will do it for you. It is very difficult and time consuming so my recommendation is to take it to a repair shop vise going diy. Working from under the car and in the engine bay is required and is quite messy from leaked power steering fluid. Quote from Honda was just shy of 400 if you provide the replacement hose ... show more

  • Worked
Worked very well on my 2005 Odyssey when used in conjunction with new seals on the power steering pump. Eliminated the whining noise caused by air being sucked into the system and eliminated a fluid leak.

  • Not as finely made as the factory part, but a much better value -- tip for removing the old one.
Edelmann has been around for quite a long time (over 100 years I believe) and their fittings and hoses are typically well made. So, I ignored the people on Youtube who implore us to purchase OEM, genuine Honda parts. This hose was about 1/2 the cost. When it arrived, I noticed that the rubber, flexible portion of the part is considerably smaller than the factory hose. Time will tell if that makes a difference, but everything (bends included) was in the right place and fit well. Regarding installation, be prepared for quite a bit of oil loss. Also, the factory installed hose is very tight at the rack and pinion end, and there is very little room to grasp a wrench. Very easy to round over the flare nut, without getting it off. I'd say a "line-wrench" is essential, but you'll have a hard time getting it over the nut if it's rounded over -- so take care. Then there's the problem of getting a grip on the wrench -- you'll have better luck from the top. If like me, you can't get it to loosen, you might do what I did. I cut the metal tubing with a mini tubing cutter, close to the nut. Once that's done, you can use a socket to remove the nut. ... show more

Despite a mention in a youtube video that only OEM part works. I found this part to work perfectly.

  • All fittings and bends are perfect. Now fast forward five months later later
Leaks in the hose not around any fittings. I bought this hose to replace the factory high pressure hose on my 07 Honda Odyssey. This hose takes about 2 hours to replace. All fittings and bends are perfect. Now fast forward five months later later.... The hose is leaking, a lot. The hose leaks are from the actual hose material. There are not leaks from the fittings or crimps that mate the metal to the hose. The material can not stand up to the pressure. It now leaks more than that one it replaced. I checked and it is now leaking from three separate places that are not being touched by anything so there is not chafing. Now I have to replace it again..... ... show more

  • Fits, but requires a bit more work than OEM due to missing components.
Be advised when purchasing this item that it will require a bit more effort to install compared to the OEM version. In particular, this part does not include the rubber bumpers that hold the metal tube to the frame, nor the rubber bushing that is used with the upper mount for the rubber portion of the hose. You will need to cut those parts with a sharp knife off of the hose being replaced. In addition, because the rubber hose is smaller, there is some space between the bushing and the clamp. Other than that, it fit well. For installation, there are several videos on YouTube. In general, easiest way to remove old part is to cut the metal piping and then twist the metal tubing off the connector to the rack. This is will allow you to use a standard socket to remove the rack fitting. To tighten the rack side connector, recommend you use a Crows Foot -style socket. ... show more
