It was simple to set up and use. It is lightweight, the cuts were accurate. It was easy to move from cutting one angle to another. Plenty of power to cut the boards I was using. Love this saw. I bought it to trim out an old home we bought and have been very please with it's power, speed and safety features. It was very easy to assemble out of box and adjustments are available for just about any angle you might want. It fits on a relatively small table so the size is right but you may need another table or some sawhorses to support long trim pieces. I felt it was a great value compared to other brands. In full disclosure, I had an earlier model of this saw and loved it but it's motor went south on me after a few months. Metabo does have a long warranty and will repair it, but the service centers were difficult for me to find when not in a large city. I ended up buying this one to replace it and will warranty the older one when I get near a big city. ... show more

Excellent Value and Everyday Workhorse – Metabo HPT 10” Miter Saw I’ve been using the Metabo HPT 10-inch compound miter saw (C10FCGS model) for the past several months on a mix of DIY home projects, trim work, and light framing around the house. This is a genuinely good saw that punches well above its price point. If you’re a homeowner, weekend warrior, or even a pro looking for a lightweight, no-nonsense tool for jobsite or shop use, this one delivers solid performance without the premium price tag of bigger brands. Build and Portability At just 24-25 lbs, this is one of the lightest 10” miter saws I’ve handled. I can easily carry it from the garage to the driveway or toss it in the truck for a quick job without feeling like I’m lugging around a tank. The base feels sturdy, the table is generously sized for the category, and the included vice clamp does a decent job securing workpieces (though I sometimes prefer my own clamps for tricky angles). Power and Cutting Performance The 15-amp motor spins the blade up to 5,000 RPM and has plenty of torque for clean cuts through 2x6 lumber at 90°, 2x4s at 45°, and even some hardwood trim. It powers through framing lumber smoothly with minimal bogging down, and the cuts come out accurate right out of the box after a quick calibration. Positive miter stops at 0°, 15°, 22.5°, 31.6°, and 45° (left and right up to 52°) make common angles a breeze, and the single-bevel range (0-45° left) covers most trim and crown work I throw at it. Blade changes are straightforward with the onboard wrench storage. Ease of Use Setup took about 10 minutes straight from the box. The thumb-actuated miter lock and bevel adjustments are intuitive and smooth. Some models in this line include the Xact Cut LED shadow line for better visibility (no finicky laser to align), which is a nice touch for indoor or low-light work. Dust collection is average—better than nothing, but I still hook up a shop vac for cleaner cuts. I picked this bad boy up brand new and on sale and couldn't be any happier. This is genuinely a good, durable, tool that produces accurate professional quality results but at a basic entry level tool cost. The blade kicks into place and there is a safety pin and assembly on the side to release the blade lock by design that you pull with your fingers or small pliers. The model I purchased did not come with a saw table but I ordered a universal model the moment I realized it and this saw sets in it perfectly. Love this saw. My life is going to become much easier when performing angled cuts and such in the future. ... show more

I really like this new model much better than the old model (C10FCGS). Metabo HPT 10-Inch Compound Miter Saw, Xact Cut LED Shadow Line System, Precision Miter Angles, Single Bevel 0-45°, 40T TCT Blade, Positive Stops, Lightweight Design, 2nd Gen Version, C10FCG2. It seems to be built with better quality over all. Unfortunately, it doesn't come with Extension Wings even though there are holes drilled for them. I recommend that if you buy this saw you buy a good blade to replace the blade that it comes with. I had a rough time removing the existing blade because the Arbor Nut was stuck and wouldn't unscrew. I finally did get it to unscrew. First of all, the arbor nut was stuck because it was painted in place with the black paint. You have to break the paint seal before it can unscrew. I used a 7 inch Curved Jaw Locking Pliers to grab the Arbor Nut. I locked the blade with the blade lock button and tapped the Locking Pliers handle with a mallet repeatedly until the Arbor Nut broke the paint seal and unscrewed. Remember, the threads on the Arbor Nut is NOT Righty Tighty. It is Righty Loosey! The ... show more

I can't give a complete review yet as I have just received it. I can say it arrived considerably ahead of schedule which was really nice. It was well packaged and I have already installed it in my workbench and checked it for 90 degrees true setting and it is true which tells me the cuts will be accurate. It is much lighter than my old one so it is easier to work with. One issue is it came without the blade wrench so I couldn't get my fine cutting blade on it. But I believe it is just a 16MM Allen wrench which I probably have somewhere. I think it is going to be really good. Anxious to get it all set up and start making things. ... show more
