  • Amazing use of technology, discrete but high performance
Color: Transparent Iron Grey / Grey Lens Type: Polarized
These glasses are awesome. They are my first set of Meta glasses and the sound is amazing. It is like having high quality earbuds without having anything in your ear. Really good for being on the go when you still want to maintain awareness of your surroundings. The frames on these are super cool looking. They are a translucent grey color so you can actually see the electronics and circuitry through the frame. Of course, the optical quality and polarization is top notch as expected from Ray-Ban. They do not feel heavy on your face, and the charging case is such a great idea, because it will actually force me to put them in the case instead of a drawer or my center console. Pairing them through the app was very easy, and the voice controls work perfectly. I do wish the voice controls were a little quicker to respond. Like if you are listening to music and say "Hey Meta, Pause the music," it still takes a second to process before it pauses. Luckily there are touch controls built into the arms, and they work quite well. The only thing that's hasn't worked too great is the live translate. It is such a cool feature, but it did have some issues picking up my wife speaking to me in Spanish. Now, my wife isn't a native speaker, but took a few years in school, so that might have something to do with the accuracy, however it didn't pick her up every time she said something. That will get better with updates though, I'm sure. Overall, fantastic glasses with the amazing audio features. People are still weirded out by the camera ones, and these won't get you any strange looks because there is no camera. You can't even tell they are anything but regular Ray-Bans when they are on your face. Super cool technology that will just keep getting better. But for what we have to work with currently, Meta and Ray-Ban nailed it. ... show more

  • Convenience Comes at a Price...but is it worth it
Color: Shiny Black on Gold / Green Lens Type: Standard
At $349, the Meta Ray-Ban Audio Clubmaster glasses offer open-ear audio, hands-free calls, and voice-controlled Meta AI in a traditional-looking frame. Their main selling point is simple: enjoy audio and AI without earbuds or built-in cameras. But is that convenience worth the price? Why Choose the Camera-Free Model? These glasses are designed for people who want Meta's audio and AI features without photo or video recording. The open-ear speakers let you listen while remaining aware of your surroundings, and the microphones support calls and voice commands. The lack of cameras may also make them more suitable in places where recording devices are unwelcome. However, they still use microphones and Meta's connected services, so privacy and app permissions deserve attention. Setup and Pairing Setup was surprisingly easy. The Meta AI app provided step-by-step instructions, and pairing worked flawlessly with my five-year-old Samsung S20 FE 5G. When my son saw the box marked “Made for iPhone,” he assumed the glasses wouldn't work with my Android phone. He was wrong. Android compatibility worked exactly as expected. You'll need the Meta AI app to access AI features and manage the glasses. There are plenty of settings and permissions to review. I initially skipped the optional customization to test the basic functions, then returned to examine the permissions. That process took about an hour, and I recommend taking the time to decide what access you're comfortable granting. Lightweight Design and Comfort At approximately 43 grams, these feel noticeably lighter than Meta's camera-equipped glasses. Adjustable temple tips, over extension hinges, and nose pads help provide a secure fit. Wearing them for several hours was more comfortable than wearing my Meta Gen 2 or Gen 3 glasses, although my regular prescription glasses remain more comfortable. Overall, they feel more like conventional eyewear than an electronic gadget. Audio, Calls, and Controls Audio is enjoyable at moderate volumes, with reasonable depth and richness. Clarity and fidelity decline as the volume increases, so I still prefer my Shokz headphones for audiobooks and music while driving or running. Call performance was very good in real-world testing. I made calls from my car, while walking outdoors, in a crowded café, and inside a big-box hardware store. Both parties could hear clearly, with minimal distracting background noise. The six-microphone array handled these situations well. The right temple's touchpad controls volume, music, and calls. A small inward-facing LED provides notifications, and a separate action button offers a shortcut. Unfortunately, the button has only two assignments: activate Meta AI or play recommended music playlists. It cannot trigger a custom prompt or answer or mute calls. Those are disappointing omissions on glasses designed primarily for audio and communication. Battery Life Meta rates these glasses for up to 12 hours per charge, compared with up to nine hours for the Gen 3 camera-equipped model. In an early test, nearly four hours of continuous music streaming left slightly less than half the battery charge remaining. That's promising, but I used a low volume, and this wasn't a comprehensive battery test. Actual runtime will depend on listening volume, calls, and AI usage. Limitations and Buying Considerations • Dark lenses: Sunglass lenses aren't ideal indoors, at night, or on cloudy days. Prescription and transition-lens options may help, depending on the configuration. • AI limitations: Answers can be inaccurate, and complex requests may require rephrasing. • Privacy: Review app permissions carefully. Camera-free doesn't mean data-free. • Meta ecosystem: The glasses rely on Meta's app and services, which may not appeal to everyone. • Price: At $349, consider whether you'll use the features regularly or whether these will become an expensive novelty. Pros • Enjoyable audio at moderate volumes • Lightweight, adjustable design • Very good call performance in my testing • Promising battery life • No cameras or photo/video recording • Flawless pairing with my older Android phone Cons • Audio quality declines at higher volumes • Limited action-button customization • Dark lenses restrict indoor use • Dependence on Meta's app and services • Expensive for an audio-focused device Final Thoughts Many people, myself included, don't realize that some smart glasses have no cameras. Even though these glasses cannot take photos or record video, don't be surprised if people give you questionable looks when they notice you're wearing Meta glasses. The camera-free design may eliminate recording concerns, but it doesn't eliminate the perception that all smart glasses are recording devices. The Meta Ray-Ban Audio Clubmaster glasses are best suited to people who want open-ear listening, hands-free calls, and voice access to Meta AI without earbuds or cameras. Comfort, straightforward setup, strong call performance, and promising battery life are the main advantages. At $349, however, the limited action-button functionality and declining audio quality at higher volumes make the value harder to justify if you already own good earbuds or other Meta glasses. For someone specifically seeking camera-free smart eyewear, these are an appealing option. For everyone else, the deciding factor is whether the convenience will become part of everyday life—or simply an expensive novelty. ... show more

  • Great if you want the audio features without the camera
Color: Shiny Black on Gold / Green Lens Type: Standard
These are really good if you like the idea of smart glasses but have absolutely no interest in having a camera on your face. I would not go as far as calling them some amazing piece of futuristic technology, but they are cool and they do what they are supposed to do very well. You can make and answer phone calls, send texts, and listen to music while still being able to hear what is going on around you. That is probably the biggest advantage for me. You are not walking around with earbuds completely blocking you off from everything around you. They also look like normal Clubmasters. There is no obvious camera or camera light for people to notice, so you are much less likely to get weird looks from someone wondering if you are recording them. If you mainly want the style along with calls, messages, and music, these make a lot of sense. The audio is surprisingly clear too. Because the speakers sit right next to your ears, you really do not need to crank them up very high to hear music or conversations clearly. That being said, remember these are open speakers. If you crank the volume up while standing around other people, they can hear it. At that point you are basically becoming the person walking around the store talking on speakerphone. Keep the volume reasonable and it works much better. My wife loves these. We also both own Gen 2 Meta Ray-Ban Wayfarers with the cameras and love those too, but these serve a different purpose. If you want smart glasses without the camera and mainly care about calls, messages, and music while keeping your ears open to the world around you, these are great. ... show more

  • Very nice audio tech in cool Ray-Bans!
Color: Transparent Iron Grey / Grey Lens Type: Polarized
This is the first pair of AI glasses I've used and I'm really impressed. Of course I would expect nothing more than excellent from Ray-Ban and these hit the mark. They obviously look really cool, are super lightweight with an adjustable nose piece so they feel extremely comfortable to wear and the polarized lenses provide superb UV protection. As for the audio with AI control, these are so awesome! They were easy to link to my Galaxy phone, I can quickly make a phone call by speaking a quick command, or play music through Spotify or Amazon Music. I kept asking my husband next to me if he could hear the music playing and he could not hear anything. I took the glasses off while the music was playing and couldn't hear it. The controls work pretty well but I did have some issues with swiping the volume up and down on the earpiece. I love that I can charge the glasses while they are inside the glasses case, and there is an indicator light on the case. I really couldn't be happier with these super cool Ray-Bans! ... show more

  • Lightweight, camera-free smart frames with fantastic battery life and versatile AI audio
Color: Transparent Iron Grey / Grey Lens Type: Polarized
I got the Meta Ray-Ban Audio Clubmaster in Transparent Grey on Gold, and right out of the box, I noticed how significantly lighter and slimmer they feel compared to my first-generation Meta Wayfarers. Even without a camera, these frames are surprisingly feature-packed. The open-ear sound quality is great for listening to music or podcasts, handling phone calls, and interacting with the built-in Meta AI assistant. App connectivity with services like Spotify and Apple Music works seamlessly. The biggest advantage of the camera-free design is the battery life—it lasts noticeably longer on a single charge than my camera-equipped pair. While it takes a little adjustment if you're used to taking quick photos or videos with your glasses, removing the camera creates a huge practical benefit: you can wear these into venues, government buildings, or private establishments that ban camera-equipped smart glasses. These have become my go-to everyday frames whenever I'm visiting places where my Wayfarers aren't permitted! ... show more
