I needed a pair of boots for when I’m out in the field. Something that I can get dirty and something that has grip for my hikes while on duty. I usually wear black bates but wanted something lighter in color. I love these. They are comfy and when I pair them with my wool socks they keep my feet warm. I’m not that rough on my shoes so I don’t know how long they will last but it’s been about 6 months and I haven’t had an issue with them. *Photos are for other item reviews also, apparently all my clothes are from Amazon lol*

Went hiking in the Tetons and needed a good solid pair of hiking boots. Never owned a pair before, but in my research, these seemed to be recommended quite a bit. They were comfortable, fit true to size, and had good traction while hiking up hills and climbing rocks.

I work in air medical. On my feet a lot. The standard EMS boots hurt my feet and after a hitch my feet are killing me. But these!!!! No issues. I can work a 96 hour shift and my feet don’t hurt. They were cool enough for hot summer temps. I’m going to buy a waterproof pair for winter! I will buy again. Seem to be holding up very well also.

I wear an 8, 8.5 or 9 depending on the shoe. The instructions say these are true to usual shoe size so I looked at my shoes - skechers size 8.5 and got that size in wide and they fit well out of the box. They are heavier than what I am used to but hold my foot and ankle in place very well without pinching. These were more than I usually spend but well worth it for shoes that were comfortable from the get go. The cushioning could be a bit more on the inside but overall, I'm impressed. Update: After wearing them hiking all over Wyoming, I have to say they were fantastic! They really didn't need much breaking in - which I did do wearing them nightly for a week before my trip. On my trip they were comfortable in every way. They held my ankle in place and they never pinched anywhere. When I was done wearing them for the day, they were easily removed and held up perfectly! I am now a huge fan of Merrell and recommend them to anyone who has feet that are a bit wider than usual. Awesome shoes! By the way - they still look new.

This is my 4th pair of Moabs. I am a hiker/backpacker. These new boots, are for some reason, not fitting the same as all my old Moab 2 boots. The toe box actually seems a bit smaller than the others but I am getting older with changing feet so I am having a hard time determining if it is my feet or the shoes. Bottom line is, I can't wear these even just around town without toe pain so certainly have not tried them on a trail. I admittedly have some toe issues going on, but they are not new! I am really disappointed because this means I am once again on a hiking show hunt and that's an expensive and frustrating place to be.
