  • Half Size Up
Size: 11 Color: Earth
Received the size 10.5(M/D) pair I ordered, but had to return them because my big toe was right at the closest point it could be to the end without touching. I’ve worn that size since high school (61-1/2 years old now) and am now finding most shoes in this style today are a bit short. Replaced with size 11; perfect! I bought these since my Moab2 pair are a few years old and the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn. We’ll these are no different. I pulled them out of the box, put them on, and then hopped on an airplane off to a 4-month deployment. Only owned them for a week now, but they were comfortable on the plane ride, wearing to work (outdoors), and seem to be warm enough with regular cotton tube socks to keep my feet warm on the 30 degree temps where I’m deployed to. It’s been raining pretty much since my arrival and I haven’t felt any moisture inside the boots at all. I will keep buying Merrill Moabs when I need more. ... show more

  • Loosen Bootlaces for a Wider Fit
Size: 9 Color: Earth
The Merrell Men's Moab 3 Mid Waterproof Hiking Boot comes out of the box with the bootlaces tightly laced. Simply relax or loosen the bootlaces so that the boot tongue is fully open and the boot will offer you a wider fit. I read several reviews where the boot fit tighter than expected and that was my experience as well until I fully loosened the bootlaces and then the boot fit me as I expected. I took the boots out on a 4 mile hike on a paved trail and the boot fit me very comfortably offering good support through out the footbed including arch, heel, and toes. The high ankle fit was very comfortable and after the first mile, I didn't give a thought to the boots on my feet. I bought these boots to wear walking the golf course and I feel the boot tread is aggressive enough to hold my stance in any condition but not so aggressive to cause damage when I'm on the green. ... show more

  • Comfortable
Size: 10.5 Color: Earth
I got them Nov 15 and decided to test them on a moderately strenuous hiking trail. I did a 2.4 mile Clear Fork Loop Trail in Tennessee. AllTrails lists it as an easy one but it’s not. There were wet leaves, uneven surfaces, tree roots, steep slopes, steps going up or down, etc. The boots did really well in all those conditions. They were very comfortable and didn’t pinch at all. My feet stayed pretty warm. I finished the hike in a little over an hour and after taking off the boots I didn’t feel any aches or pains in my feet. I would totally recommend them. I have ordered 1 more as Christmas present for my friends. I paid $70 for size 10.5 (earth) for myself. I am 5’10.5” tall. I paid $90 for size 11 (beluga) for my friend. ... show more

  • Great boot, super comfortable, excellent traction!
Size: 10.5 Color: Earth
Finally upgraded my 25 yr old Timberland hiking boots and man, am I sorry I waited so long! These Merrell Moab 3 WPs are SOO much more comfortable and have a better sole. Feels more like a tennis/running shoe than a hiking boot. Doesn't seem to be any 'break-in' period - comfortable right out of the box. My foot does run a little narrow (prob a C width), but the standard Med width fits very well. Length size seems to be true, but with a hiking boot, always recommended to go up about 1/2 size from your normal shoe size. Haven't had them long, so can't speak to durability, but they seem very well made. ... show more

  • I could write a full page describing the features and benefits of these boots.
Size: 7.5 Color: Earth
As I wrote above, I could write a page about these boots, (aided by certification in the foot/shoe industry and hefty experience in hiking & climbing). Not every foot fits every brand. I'm fortunate to have feet that fit Merrell - of which I have four different styles; the latest being the Moab 3 mid boot. (I have no affiliation with any manufacturer). Quick overview: from the multi-compound, high traction, beautifully designed outer sole, to the generous toe box, firm heal support, well cushioned tongue & shaft, this boot is extremely good - providing sound a foundation, great multi-surface traction for safety and propulsion, fabulous material strength to weight ratio and very good value for money. If you wear-them-out, you've either not cared for them, or you've walked/hiked beyond many horizons - in good performance, safety wearing big smiles. ... show more

  • A bit of break in … pleasure once past break in period
Size: 9.5 Color: Beluga
Great Merrel shoes! Amazing if you have wide feet. I am used to Danner and Altra, so bit of a leap when I ordered the Moab. They took about a week of hiking/walking to break in and I was skeptical as they were stiff at start. The grip is amazing for hikes in PNW’s roots and rocky terrain , very comfortable during multiple hikes of 10-15 + miles and feet felt great and supported. I have now hikes over 100miles and they stand up to abuse, would buy again. ... show more

  • Seems very well constructed - Good quality.
Size: 10 Color: Earth
I've been wearing Merrell Mid hiking shoes since 2016. My previous two pairs were Moab 2, and I've been very happy with the wear, fit and waterproof qualities. Right out of the box, I noticed that the Moab 3 looks to be even sturdier then the Moab 2. The sole has a more aggressive tread and the toe and heel are more reinforced. The fit is sturdy and the insert seems to have a more significant arch support. I read some reviews reporting that the sizing runs a little small, and I notice that they seem to fit snug, but that might be because they are new. Some reviews report that they are not waterproof; as of this writing, I haven't had an opportunity to test that facet. I don't use Merrell's for necessarily just hiking, but more of a daily wear during the colder seasons and inclement weather (although I do occasionally hike with these). They have always been very comfortable, so I am looking forward to the Moab 3. I will update this review, once I have experienced wet conditions and after a break-in period. ... show more

  • Durable and comfortable
Size: 13 Color: Earth
I never buy shoes online, but this was a great buy. They fit perfectly and are comfortable to wear. They are waterproof and keep my feet warm. So far the lowest the temperature it's been is in the teens and had no issues with them. I got them so when working outside in the mornings, my feet don't get all wet from the grass and I don't have to wear bulky boots. But I've worn them to work, camping, hiking and just every day. My feet don't hurt after wearing them all day either. ... show more
