I loved these so much I bought another pair in a different color. I had my misigivings about the lacing systems being these sitched fabric hooks, but, so far, the boots seem to be holding up well. Fitment: As someone who struggles with footwear due to the shape and wideness of my feet, these boots are a solid win in my book. I was able to order them in my actual size, without having to go up. One minor issue: The model for these boots was likely a wide foot with a higher arch. I did find them to be a little too spacious, as I have lower arches, but, I solved this problem with some cheap Dr. Scholl's inserts. What (minor) slippage I had was resolved. Weight: They don't weigh anything. Lacing: The laces seem to be good quality - a little long, however. Traction: No issues what so ever on the trail. I am confident when walking over smooth or wet rocks. Cushion: I have some bone spurs on my heels and these boots provided adequate cushioning on their own so I don't have any serious issues there. Waterproofing: I don't expect any lowcut to be waterproof beyond light rain. They dry very quickly if you're wearing the appropriate socks. Overall: These are really solid boots.     • Amazing boots, run a bit large

I used these boots to hike El Capitan & Eagles point Yosemite. It was a total of 18 miles(5,800 ft of elevation gain) that I did this day on these boots that were brand new and not broken in yet. Even tho they were not broken in they did a great job and were not uncomfortable or painful. Conditions were cold but mostly dry. It had rained maybe 4 days prior and there was no water that got into the boot or my socks. My feet were warm and dry through out the day. The slip resistance is really good even with mud. I will say that the only thing you should know about these before buying them is that they run a bit bigger than they say. I bought a size 10 initially but a 9.5 fit me better. Keep that in mind if you are going to be ordering these. I liked these so much that I will be buying a pair for my wife as well. ... show more

A good product, comfortable and fits well right out of the box. Sufficient room in the toe box, sturdy, nice color, and a decent weight e.g. not too heavy or light, and built well for uneven terrain.

I bought my last pair of these Merrell high tops in 2017. I use them mostly for work in the yard (and outside in general) and they held up extremely well. I can see several improvements in these vs the previous pair. Better rigidity in the body, better overall feel and fit, and the top “catch” that you place the shoestring in is significantly larger. At least double in size. If you’re on and off with them much, you will really appreciate this. That and the comfort of these shoes make me really appreciate them.     • Durable and good for long hikes or daily use

As with all Merrell shoes I have used these are perfect for hiking or daily use. Merrell's will last much longer then the average set of hiking shoes and will be not cause pain during long hikes. If you have wide feet these shoes will be perfect and not cause your toes to feel cramped.

Super solid, got them for a trip in CO and worked out great. The wide size is super helpful. Definitely true to size. The waterproofing is good but can get in the top mesh pretty easily. The grip is amazing. Can walk up gravel and such easily. Worth the money for sure.

Have been using these for several months now. Hiking in lots of different kinds of terrain. The fit is accurate and gives good ankle support. You can adjust your sock type to help make these work for any season. Tread is aggressive and works well for traction in most terrain. Would recommend.
