  • Very sturdy hiking boot.
Size: 10.5 Color: Walnut
Have used Merrill for years during my archery hunting seasons. They have held up great so I purchased this pair. This hear when the temp dropped down in the mornings, I noticed these boots to have way to much air flow and my feet got cold. My older Merrill boots were all leather so that was the difference. If these are worn for hiking in warm weather, they would be great since they breath so well. They are also very light weight which I like when wearing them on walks or around outside the house. Just not made for the cooler days. Highly recommend them and they fit great. Put them on and away you go without breaking them in. ... show more

  • Very fine product.
Size: 11 Color: Walnut
I have worn Merrell shoes for close to 30 years. They have always been of high quality and this pair is up to this company's high standards.

  • First and last pair of hiking boots
Size: 10 Color: Black Night
Fits true to size with out of the box comfort. Held up great on slick terrain thanks to the Vibram soles, definitely will purchase another pair.

  • Does exactly what it’s supposed to with comfort
Size: 10.5 Color: Walnut
Took them to Sedona Arizona and used them for the first time there. No blisters, great grip, great ankle support and lots of ventilation.

  • The Perfect Boot
Size: 12 Color: Black Night
I had tried the low top version of this boot a year prior and wanted to give these a go. They are just as comfortable as the low tops but obviously have a bit of ankle support. I use these boots both for hiking and for work and they do both very well as they are very comfortable and as an added bonus provide an additional inch of height making me 6’4.” The fit is just right and there isn’t really anything wrong with these boots. ... show more

  • Wide is really wide.
Size: 9.5 Color: Walnut
I ordered these in a wide because that is what I usually take, but the wide were very wide, so I sent the wide back and got a regular 9.5. They fit just right. Purchased on sale so they were a good price.

  • Great 3/4 ankle boots for people with certain foot issues.
Size: 11.5 Color: Walnut
I have drop foot in my right leg, happened when I was a 25 yr old when my pelvis was broken and I wear an AFO inside the shoe to give my toes elevation and do not trip. You can't imagine the difficulty in finding shoes I can wear comfortably with such a condition. The shoes are either too narrow at the toe box and painfully squeeze my toes or two narrow in the center of the foot and the brace will not fit inside. Many times, when I cannot find a wide style shoe, I have to buy a half size or full size larger just to fit the brace and end up tripping often from the extra length. The last pair of boots I bought were Salomon XAforce which were $200 a few years back. Since they are 3 yrs old and a light coyote brown color they have become dingy. They are great boots, probably the best but I didn't have $220 to spend. I decided to give Merrell a try because my 77 yr old uncle, who is also well aware of a good boot from his days in Vietnam, had a pair on one day. After reading several positive reviews, I purchased. The Salomon XAs took at least 3 months to break in, they were so uncomfortable in the beginning but these Merrill boots were comfortable right out of the box it actually surprised me because that almost NEVER happens. My foot is very tender in spots and some days it can be painful just to put ON a shoe. My brace fit in with no modifying whatsoever and the toe box doesn't scrunch my toes and make it painful like some other boots can. Laced up nice and tight they feel great on my feet and I can wear them all day with bo problems, which I cannot do with just any ol shoe. The bottom sole grips snow and ice and I feel fairly confident I will not slip on my butt on the icy Colorado ground. I've only had them about 4 months but so far everything has held up and I've had no problems. They've become even more comfortable than my Salomons and I wear them just as much if not more. Only time will tell if they last as long. I'm glad I got these either way when comparing price and now I'm Merrell guy just as much as Salomon, thanks uncle! 👍🏻 ... show more

  • Good enough for My. Ararat
Size: 11 Color: Black Night
These boots were comfortable and durable enough to get me to the snowy peak of Mt. Ararat at over 5000m. I had no trouble attaching crampons to them in the snow and doubling up my socks underneath. There was no need to break them in either. Many of my fellow hikers had much fancier, more expensive mountaineering boots so I was worried that they wouldn't be good enough, but they were. Meanwhile, those with the fancy boots complained about their sore feet. ... show more
