I normally wear 7.5 wide in Merrell boots. but these were on sale for like $38 with tax so I thought I would give them a try. they seemed to fit pretty well so I decided to keep them. to loosen the toe box I shoved 3 thick hiking socks in the toe area of the shoe and left them for about 24 hours. I wore them on a hike today and they felt really good. One thing I have noticed with merrell boots that I have returned is one shoe will seem tighter than the other. like there is less material making up the toe area. that is not the case with these shoes, they feel the same and I am not thinking about how one boot is squeezing my foot while I walk. I am pleased with these boots. I got a great deal. Amazon processed a return for these when I actually returned a different pair of merrells that were over $100. convenient for them. it took a few phone calls for them to finally refund the additional $70 and they never corrected the issue in their system so my account shows I returned these, and the other more expensive boots that I returned say "in transit". that is a pain and I think sneaky on amazon's part to try and refund me for the cheap boots when I returned the expensive ones. I never initiated a return on these boots and now it says the return is complete. well amazon, I have the boots. photos as proof. Lol. one thing I didn't like about these boots is all the yellow on the sides of the soles, so I colored it in with a black sharpee, hopefully with use they will just look dirty and less bright. but for $38 I can't complain. the boots came in a simple brown box that said the original box was damaged. the boots were clean and did not look used.

I got these a month before doing the Bataan Memorial Death March this year, 2023. A ruck march in the high desert, I carried 15 lbs or so this time. My other Merrell Moabs gave out about a year ago and I needed new boots. So I put it off until I could find the right Moab Vent models. I don't like waterproof boots and have used these Vents in multiple 6-14 hr events where we get in lakes, rivers, all sorts of water and I have never had an issue with my feet or these boots. They are Winners! I put about 30 miles at best, on them prior to Bataan which is a 26.2 miler in the high desert of New Mexico. Well, I finished the March, cut 1.5 hrs off my previous time and only had one little blister size of a thumbnail on one toe ( my fault really). I did wear Injini socks with wool padded socks over. I think my Merrells performed fabulousy!

Bought the men’s for my husband and the women’s for me, we both love them. The Merrill Moab is a great casual hiking boot. It provides a fair amount of ankle support and is actually comfortable right out of the box. I like to change out the insole for one with a bit more arch support. This style is not waterproof, but I prefer one that breathes and will dry quickly so that works fine for me. This style is also not the longest lasting pair of hikers, but for the price, we’re not complaining.

Issue has been very helpful as I have transitioned to a off-the-shelf orthotic, two custom orthotics. She was wide enough to allow my orthotic and my foot to fit in the shoe and the higher ankle support is perfect for making sure my feet don’t slip out of the shoe.
