  • MY FAVORITE BRAND OF SHOE
Size: 11.5 Color: Earth
I used to buy cheap shoes from the large discount shoe stores. Never really liked the shoes. They were just ill fitting junk. One day I was at Cabelas and tried on a pair of Merrell Moab hiking shoes. I realized that I'd never really had shoes that were made of superior materials and that fit perfectly. Since then, I've taken all my cheap sports shoes and dropped them in the garbage. I can take long walks for miles or be on my feet for hours in my Merrells with no discomfort. Since the depression has started with all the shortages and supply chain disruptions, I'm picking up extra pairs of Merrells so I never run out. An absolutely wonderful brand. ... show more

  • A great daily driver walking shoe.
Size: 11 Color: Walnut
I have purchased both the 11 and the 11.5 version of this shoe. The 11.5 I purchased at the local mall and paid about $112. It is a bit wide but has great room I’m the toe box so I’m hoping that this will be adequate for my upcoming hike into the Grand Canyon. I’ve seen and heard about toes jamming into the toe box when going downward so much so that you damage and lose your toenails. So I bought the larger size to avoid this but ended up with a shoe that was a little too wide. When I saw these on sale for $68 I decided to buy the 11s which now fit well for everyday use but risk toenail damage during extended downhill treks. Both shoes are among the most comfortable shoes I have and require no break in. Both would probably work. ... show more

  • Bought it again
Size: 10.5 Color: Walnut
I knew that ears and noses (and waistlines) keep growing as you age. I didn't know that feet do too, but I know it now. I've had a pair of these for some time, replaced the insoles once, and they're still fine but my toes are now able to touch the end of the shoe. When I went to look for them in a larger size I saw that Merrell has replaced them with a newer model but the reviews of the newer model were poor - people said they fell apart in a couple of months. So I looked for this model again and found it. Ordered it one size bigger than my old shoes and two sizes bigger. The one size bigger fits better and I returned the others. Return was super easy and the credit appeared the next day. ... show more

  • If you are a women with wide feet get these!
Size: 7.5 Wide Color: Walnut
I'm heavyset and am trying to lose the pandemic weight from basically hiding in the house for three years. That being said prior to the pandemic I loved hiking. I finally decided to get back into and bought these shoes in a wide width so they're extra wide for my feet. They were so comfortable especially after they got wet on the first hike. I put in some gel insoles to help with how stiff the shoe is at my weight but other than that they fit perfectly. The whole 3mile moderate hike was basically painless! Which is funny because I normally deal with a ton of pain daily. :) Good shoes. ... show more

  • Wide also means big.
Size: 10.5 Wide Color: Walnut
Great shoes, but I think I overdid it by ordering the wide. Yes, I deliberately ordered a wide, because that's what I wear in most other brands. This just seems to be overall larger, like it would fit better if I was a lot heavier and my feet were plumper. I can't compare Merrell's regular width, because I haven't tried them, but getting this in a wide was more than I needed. ... show more

  • Declining quality, but still a decent purchase when at right price point
Size: 9 Color: Pecan
So I buy a pair of these every nine months to a year. I don't wear them merely weekends. I wear them a LOT, probably 50% of time or more. I find they fit well, and are consistent on sizing and arch, allowing me to buy them online without worrying about what to expect with fit. In terms of usage type, I do a bit of hiking in them, but usually use stronger mid ankle for that. Mainly my use is basic daily use with some recreation. I will say though that these hiking shoes have been declining in quality. other reviewers noting that are correct. For example five years ago one could expect this model to last perhaps 50% longer than today. The specific flaw is in seam/glue where front rubber material separates from canvas/leather type material. This is maddening since my initial pairs all lasted a good amount longer and pretty much everything failed at same time. To have a repeated single point of failure, noted by many buyers, means a significant drop in value. Here is the thing though, if you tick the various colors here you are likely to find some steeply discounted ones, under seventy beans. At that price, if you find the first pair you bought fit well, you are getting a decent value. ... show more

  • Still the best all around hiking shoe for the price
Size: 11 Color: Walnut
I hike frequently on rugged New England terrain and during the past 10 years Merrill has become my go-to. I'm starting on my 2nd pair of Moab 2 Vents. The first one took seven years of 3-season daily use, on the trail, around the office, and only the last couple years I demoted them to yard work. They are beat up but only just starting to come apart, and still serviceable for short jaunts. Judging from my first walk with the new ones I expect the same longevity, and am glad they haven't messed with the styling much - still good looking and comfy both on the trail and around town. I also can vouch enthusiastically for the Moab 3's which handle my harder climbs with heavier loads, and the waterproof Geomorphs which have served as my main winter boot. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars here is that the material they are now using over the ankle padding (on Moab 3 as well) seems to collect debris more easily and funnels it down into the shoe. This can be an annoyance on gravelly terrain and bushwacks - gaiters may come in handy. ... show more

  • Excellent Support All the Time
Size: 10 Color: Espresso
I like it that it's very easy to put on and take off the shoes. I bought them for "light" hiking and dog walking, but I know they can handle much more. I feel properly supported in these shoes, and I like how they look.
