Product is easy to put together. It takes a bit of time if you are working by yourself, and you will need someone to help you hold pieces or lift the top onto the bottom at some point. Bunk bed is sturdy when it gets put together. Our daughters are little right now so it's plenty sturdy for them. You could easily add another cross piece or plywood for more support as they get older if need be. My wife and daughter were both on the top bunk and it held them easily. They recommend a 6 inch mattress in the top. We currently have an 8 inch mattress at the top. The guardrail might offer a little more protection with the 6 inch mattress if you are worried about that. But it still blocks the kids from rolling out even with an 8 inch mattress. Two pieces were cracked in shipping. Looks like the box got damaged, and so two pieces on the top were split. I communicated with the company and they quickly settled with a partial refund, and I fixed the splits myself. This is what I asked for. They would have refunded the full amount for a return, but we wanted to keep the bunk bed since its difficult to find a full over full bunkbed. They responded quickly via email and agreed. This is a great bunkbed. We bought the full over full with twin trundle. Be aware that there is a wood support beam that runs under the top bunk. Both my kids hit there head on it right away. HACK: We bought tube insulation with adhesive and put it over the beam for padding then took a full flat sheet and pulled it up under the top bunk slats before screwing them down. There is now no dangerous wood visible under the top bunk. Pros: Compact it's not any longer or wider then our single full bed just taller. Easy assembly very well labeled but only pictures so we had a couple of times we had to switch pieces around. Sturdy which means the boxes are very heavy. I put most of it together at 6 months pregnant but did need my hubby's help at times for balancing and lifting. So easy my 5 year old daughter was able to help with a lot of the screws. Looks beautiful if you like traditional wood. Not super tall so top bunk is roomy. Cons: Wood beam across bottom of top bunk (see above for hack) Not a lot of space between top and bottom bunk if you put a tall matress down there. Approx. 31" between the bottom bunk slats and the top bunk beam. Mattress size reccomedation: Twin Size Trundle 4"-6" Full Size Bottom Bunk less than 10" to help with more head space. Full Size Top Bunk 10" allows for one side slat above side of matress. ... show more

Shipping: Bed parts come in 2 boxes! 1st box came in 10 days or so and the 2nd box cam like 10 days after the 1st box (so keep that in mind) Pretty sturdy both upper and lower. I am about 160 pounds and help my kids change the covers and don't hear any noise when I get on the mattress. I did place a 12 in memory mattress on the lower but needed to buy a 10 in memory mattress for the upper since I was worried my kid might roll over. Only thing I didn't like was that the lower has little to no space when my kid wants to sit up and he's only 3. Maybe a thinner mattress like 8 in would be better for this bunk bed but so far so good ... show more

The media could not be loaded. It looks really nice and I’m still assembling it as I type but I was only able to do the bottom bunk because they sent me enough of the longest screws but sent some other ones that are slightly shorty than the longest ones and they can’t reach far enough into the wood to get it to stay put. Feeling kind of annoyed by this because I was super excited to do this before my kids got out of school but now I have to make a trip to Home Depot to finish it. ... show more

The instructions came with detailed illustrations but at first, seemed overwhelming to me. However, I quickly realized it was not more difficult than building a LEGO set and I could do almost all by myself. I only had to ask for help to place the upper bed on top of the other and for a few other steps. The hardware, tools, and parts were all labeled with stickers which made the assembly for me much less complicated. The bunk bed parts are all made of wood and there were no plastic pieces. Since there were so many pieces to assemble, it took me a whole afternoon to finish it. Once done with the assembly, I could then see that the top rails are high enough to secure the mattress and to prevent a sleeper to fall off. I also pushed against the bunk bed to check if it's stable enough for rowdy youngsters and it stood its ground. The white paint is the same hue as shown and doesn't have a tendency to flake off. Also, as it's not very tall, slightly over 5 feet, I can make the upper bed without having to stand on a step stool. And, if necessary, I can dismount the upper bed and place it directly on the floor. ... show more
