I had to really work and stretching them out but once I did with all the socks they are still little tight but tolerable. After reading reviews, I decided to take a chance on these, and they are GREAT! Let me first say that I wear western boots every single day, and I cannot stand having the boots rub my bare legs, so I need socks that are both comfortable but mainly able to stay up higher than my boots without pulling them up all the time. Well FEAR NOT! No matter what any other review says, these socks are great quality, and they stay all the way up over my calf, just under my knee all day, with out having to pull them up once. Plus, they are soft, with some wool blend, so they wick moisture away, but they are also very stretchy so they stay put without giving them one thought. My wife bought me a pair of Columbia socks that do the same thing, and they are very good, but they were double the price, for just one pair, and I got 3 pairs of these for half the price of that one pair. We wash them on regular cycle but hang them to dry, so they won't shrink. So far I've had them through the wash 3 times, and they have not shrunk at all, and they appear to be brand new, so I highly recommend these. Buy with confidence if you like your socks to stay up over you calf all day and feel great. ... show more

I love the sock for it’s warmth it provides during winter. But it shrunk with the first few washes, I machine washed and air dried. I bought it knee high, I use it as a crew sock now. Hey, but it isn’t gonna keep me from wearing them.
