  • Solid Edition of a Solid Debut
This review is for the 2CD Deluxe Edition. (Ignore all reviews for the vinyl edition if that isn't your thing as they have nothing to do with this release.) Live's debut album is a very good one. You can argue that it is a bit preachy, but the musicality and intensity more than make up for it. It wasn't an accident that they got so much airplay on MTV. They're good! The album also has a nice flow to it, listenable from beginning to end. You get the feeling that they were more than a one-hit (or two-hit) wonder, as they would prove definitively on their follow-up, Throwing Copper. The live CD was a revelation. In retrospect, it is a bit surprising that there has not been a live 90s release before now. Even early in their career, they played with passion and energy. I believe any fan of the original album will enjoy this live set as well. This edition also includes four additional tracks from the period including the two originally released on the Four Songs EP. These aren't great by any means but they are still worthy of inclusion. For some reason other bands (I'm looking at you, R.E.M.) don't feel that this is important. There is also an essay by Kowalczyk and the lyrics for each song (including Susquehanna which is only on the live CD). To me this adds up to a successful release and a worthy reissue. ... show more

  • +Live+ starts the ball rolling....Again
What a Great debut CD by the boys of York, Pennsylvania. I 1st saw them on the Dennis Miller show, and was instantly pulled in by their Great and Energetic performance. So I went out and bought this way back in 1992,and its still holds up today! Great songs like Pain Lies on the Riverside, The beauty of Gray, and Brothers Unaware-this Cd is a "must have" if you are a true fan of +Live+. In this 25th Anniversary edition, it now comes with bonus tracks on disc 1, and a performance by the boys, back in July of 92 at the Roxy(which is Great as well) Well worth the asking price, and Highly Recommended!!!! ... show more

  • Even better than the first time
Live is incredible. This albums sounds even better than the first time I listened to it. The bonus tracks are amazing (with the exception of the PLOTR remix, which is still okay). The 2nd live at the Roxy 1992 disc is fantastic. And they play the Susquehanna and Negation at this show, which are great songs. ... show more

  • Love this album
I freaking love this album, always have and always will and I’m so happy I got to add it to my vinyl collection! The record plays great and was packaged well when I received it!

  • Best intentions
The pressing sounds great the reason I gave it a 2 is the center hole punch is off way off my tone arm movies about 5mm left to right. Come on really after all the work and effort to get a good press then to mess it up with the center hole? Gave it a 2 for sound quality. Hope ya get on that is punched right. ... show more

  • I have always loved this album from day one
I have always loved this album from day one. I'm glad to see it re-surface, I only wish there was an even more "Deluxian..." edition! Either way, if you're a fan of this band or the record, I can't recommend this strong enough!

  • CD Remaster is Amazing
I'm not sure what the vinyl guys are going on about, but this album is one of my favorites ever since my cousin who was in a band bought me the CD a year before Live exploded onto the MTV scene. I've always loved the CD and thought it was well produced. I wasn't expecting much from the 25th anniversary release other than the live album but I was very pleasantly surprised - the remaster blows the original out of the water. Whoever did the remaster deserves whatever he was paid (and obviously loves music sounding as it should). Punchier, more detail without ever being bright, more nuance, no truncated instruments and so forth. WOW! ... show more
