FAQ: Q: Do I need a special razor to use with My Perfect Goatee (MPG) shaving template? A: No, you can use the same razor, trimmer or electric shaver that you would normally use to shave your face. You will want to use a good quality razor for the best results. Razors are not included with this product. Q: How long does it take to shave with the My Perfect Goatee shaving template? A: That depends on the individual, but your goatee grooming time will shorten since you can shave more confidently, knowing that your goatee is safe and will have the exact shape you desire. Q: Can I adjust MPG to match my goatee/van dyke? A: Yes, this can be accomplished in just a few seconds. The top, middle, and bottom of rollers can be adjusted to the shape that makes a perfect goatee, Q: How do I adjust MPG guides? A: The shaving guides are adjusted by turning each roller individually. For the best results, please turn the top roller by a ¼ turn and then stop, Turn the middle roller 1/4 turn and then stop. Finally, adjust the bottom roller 1/4 turn and stop. Repeat until the shaving guides are at your desired width. Then you can adjust any roller where you want the guides to be wider at that part of the template. To help better explain: If you turn one roller too much, the threads on the rollers will get pinched, and then they won't turn anymore. If this happens, turn the roller back to the original position and follow the above steps. Q: Can I use shaving cream with MPG? A: Yes, MPG is designed to be used with shaving cream and hot water. Q: How do I clean MPG? A: MPG shaving template is made of durable ABS plastic and can be cleaned with soap and hot water. Q: If this is my first time to use MPG, do I need to trim my goatee? A: If this is the first time to use MPG, then it is best to use a trimmer to trim your goatee as short as possible. This will allow an easier shave the first time you use MPG. After your first time, you do not need to trim the length of your goatee or van dyke unless you desire to wear it short in length. Q: Do I have to trim my goatee each time I use MPG? A: You do not have to trim your goatee at all. If you do trim, however, trim your goatee to the preferred length first and then use MPG to shape it. Q: Why do I have hair sticking out of the sides of MPG after I have shaved? A: There is a 1/8-inch gap from the end of most razor blade holders to where the blade actually begins. The goatee/van dyke will still be symmetrical since the blade is the same on both sides of the razor, and this occurs on both sides of the face. This is a result of the way the razor blades are manufactured. Q: What is the black insert and adhesive strip included with the product? A: This was added to the latest version so to keep facial hair from sticking down between the left and right guides under the chin. When the hair sticks down, a notch can accidentally be cut into your facial hair under your chin. This is an extra safety feature to help ensure a perfect goatee.
