  • A lot of style in a nice looking watch for very little money
Color: silver black
Who doesn't love the iconic rounded-octagon bezel of the Royal Oak? But the original is way too expensive for most of us to enjoy, which is why it is such a popular subject of homage watches like this one. The interpretation of the design in this watch captures the essence of the original Royal Oak without going too aggressively in the direction of a replica. The sides of the bezel and case are polished and the top of the bezel is brushed. Because the brushing process would take the plating off a thinly plated metal, I think the bezel probably is actual stainless steel, but the case does not look like it. The case looks like a chrome plated brass or zinc based on the surface finish rather than stainless steel. This matters because zinc or brass is much softer metal and the plating less durable than a genuine stainless case, so it's more susceptible to scratches and damage. But a true stainless steel case at this price point would be a rarity. The dial is lovely. The 3D waffle pattern combines with the polished applied indices to give a genuinely rich look to the watch face. The hour indices and hands have lume applied to them, which is a nice feature, but the lume doesn't last very long in the dark. Again, not a great surprise given the price point. I appreciate the way they stylized the "OPK" logo to look like "OAK" - a clear tip of the hat to the origin of the design. While they claim the band is 316 Stainless, it is clear that they saved a lot of money on the band. There is a lot of play between the links, so it has that jangly sound when moved. It is styled to look like a 5-link bracelet when in fact it is a single link affair. The entire width is polished with no contrasting brush work. The clasp is a stamped metal clasp with no secondary locking mechanism and no micro adjustment. And, the bracelet is on the small side. I have a 7.75" wrist and this watch fits me right out of the box without having to remove any links from the bracelet. Normally on a metal bracelet I take out 2 links to make it fit, so that's a warning to those with larger wrists. The case back is a snap on type claiming water resistance without specifying how much. I would avoid getting this watch wet at all. So, features-wise you get about what you expect for the price point but the big attraction is the styling and dial which respectfully pay homage to an iconic masterpiece of a watch. If you like the look, you'll likely enjoy wearing this watch. ... show more

  • Nice looking budget watch
Color: gold White
While this watch isn't from a prestige brand, it looks and feels quite good. Its construction is quite clean, which is a plus for this price range. The face of the watch has some personality (Roman numerals alternate with little flourishes) but isn't so over-the-top or gaudy to draw attention to itself. In fact, from the coloring to the design this watch looks good without drawing attention to itself. It certainly doesn't look like a watch on the cheaper end of the market. Once I had the excess links removed, it fit like a charm. My main quibble with this watch is that it's very tricky to properly set the day of the week. I fail more often than I succeed, and that's frustrating to me. Other than that, I wholly recommend this watch as a gift for a man who doesn't want (or need) a dressy watch costing several hundred dollars. ... show more

  • A Stroke of Gold on My Wrist!
Color: white GOLD WHITE
I've been on the lookout for a watch that not just tells time but also tells a bit about me. And I think I hit the jackpot with the OLEVS Gold Watch. From the moment I unboxed it, the watch exuded a kind of elegance that's hard to find in today's market, where everything feels either too flashy or too minimal. The gold finish on this watch is just the right shade—not too brassy, not too dull. It catches the light beautifully, making it a subtle statement piece that's gotten me quite a few compliments already. Wearing it to work or out to dinner, it fits every setting seamlessly. What surprised me the most was how comfortable it is. Watches can sometimes feel heavy or awkward on the wrist, but the OLEVS Gold Watch feels like it was made for me. It's lightweight enough that I sometimes forget I'm wearing it, but when I do remember, it's always a pleasant reminder. The craftsmanship is something worth noting, too. Every detail, from the watch face to the band, feels carefully considered and well-executed. It's sturdy, functional, and yet has an air of sophistication that you'd expect from a much pricier piece. If I had to pick a downside, it would be that now I've set the bar pretty high for my next watch purchase. But that's a problem for future me. Right now, I'm just enjoying the glow this watch adds to my everyday life. If you're in the market for a gold watch that balances style, comfort, and quality, the OLEVS Gold Watch is a choice you won't regret making. ... show more

  • Works well but can it track months?
Color: black white
Obviously this isn't a brand name watch so it's not exuding luxury, but it does have a classy aesthetic. Pulling it out of the box, it has some weight, but not the heft of a luxury watch either. It has the feel of being a good everyday knockaround watch. The instructions aren't good since it's one book meant to cover all their models, but this model isn't included in the book. But the instructions to set the time and date were generally correct and were easy to follow. I'm not sure if this watch is able to keep track of the month since there's no setting for it, but the expectation for these types of watches is usually for the user to adjust it manually every month anyway, so I guess I won't know for sure for another couple months at the end of February. Construction on the watch seems decent though there's a little bit of too much play in the links perhaps since the clasp likes to clamp down misaligned at times and won't actually put the pin in the hole until you wiggle it back into the correct position. All around really nice and giftable. ... show more
