I rarely write reviews, but after a winter using this coat I felt compelled to share my experience. This is the best winter coat I've ever owned (even better than the down-lined London Fog parka I used faithfully for 2 decades.) I'm a devotee of layering for warmth, so I purchased one size up from my normal fit. My first real test was wearing this coat and a winter zipper fleece under it to tackle the first blizzard of the year. About 15 minutes into shoveling the driveway, I had to go inside and remove the winter fleece. The reflective warmth guard in within this coat kept me snuggly warm in roughly zero degree (F) weather with slight windchill. Since then, I've warn the coat religiously in HEAVY wind chill, the lowest being near -20 (F). With the polar fleece there was NO penetration of wind and I stayed comfortably warm. I've also tested it in both wet snow and snow/rain mix - the waterproofing was suburb. The only moisture I felt on the coat during the slushy mix was my own sweat on the interior (LOL!). Like other reviews warn, getting used to the zipper on the opposite side was the only downside, but one that lasted all of a week. Other than that one idiosyncrasy, this coat is amazing. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another when the time comes (although mine still looks like new!), and I'm now investigating what other products this store/brand may have on the hopes they have similar snow pants. ... show more

Overall nice jacket. Great color and pocket locations. The only complaint is it is not very warm. If you are going to be somewhere really cold you will need to layer underneath it to stay warm. It does run a little big also.

Honestly I really enjoy this jacket. Great at blocking wind, keeping warm, and comfortable. Fits just right and looks good while wearing it. The outside material is decent but could possibly rip if caught on something. Really good product for its price. Has a Velcro patch on the right sleeve. I was born in Indiana and experienced COLD winters growing up. The winter jackets were heavy. The Bantrek Ski Jacket is surprisingly light. When it arrived in a flat envelope, I was worried that it would not be what I expected. But after I opened the vacuum-packed packaging, it fluffed up. This means that when I pack it for a trip, I can vacuum-pack it to take up little space, unlike my old winter jackets. Also, for packing, it doesn't weigh a lot. But I then wondered if it would keep me warm. Whatever it is made of keeps in the body heat to ensure warmth. I really like that it has four outside zipped pockets. The hood is integrated (not removable) and is also insulated. The description reads that it has two zippers. It has one zipper, but two zipper unfashioners. This allows you to zip it up and then unzip just the bottom. It also makes unzipping a bit of a challenge. ... show more
